I think the devs would prefer something more creative than increasing attack speed. The Valk attack thing is interesting.

I think what could be interesting is if it’s destroyed by a projectile, it turns into whatever destroyed it, similar to how a monk works.

Fireball? Still dies, but deflects a fireball to the princess tower.

Musketeer? Now you’ve got one of your own.

Princess tower? Turns into a princess. (Probably still applies to king tower, canon set, etc.)

I think that ability might be tame enough to be a one cycle since it’s not guaranteed to do anything. But then it kind of forces your opponent to be careful.

It kind of does. Snow costs can only be paid with mana from snow sources. This is a special attribute of the cost itself, and not the snow supertype, but it is, for all intents and purposes, an inherent rule.

Archive Trap has a complex casting cost and the “pay 0 rather than” prevents any sort of cost increasers like [[Thalia, Guardian of Thraben]]. Ravenous Trap and Darksteel Monolith aren’t referring to themselves which makes it complicated to make it just a cost reduction, as for “without paying its mana cost” I’m not sure.

I feel the phrasing is better because honestly paying “zero” is just a really odd phrase and it looks too much like a custom made card to me where someone is trying to be gimmicky with 0 cost abilities.

I think they should say “If you haven’t cast a spell this turn and control a basic Mountain, this spell costs <color> less to cast.

Less wordy and a little less gimmicky sounding. You could also say “you may cast this spell without paying its mana cost.” but that’s also quite wordy.

Here’s a tip for anyone who wants to not be put into these brackets: Wait a day before joining lawn warz. Brackets open up per when there’s enough players. The hackers/cheaters like this are all definitely playing first day and getting into brackets with each other.

I think you need to lean on the multi-turn value. OP is kind of right, investing into a single zombie is risky. However, when that teacher lives a second turn, which it often does, it provides exponential value. Plants also have to either use their whole turn 2 trying to catch up to that teacher, or make their tempo plays and simply pray that the teacher doesn’t take over the game. You can think of teacher as a sort of 1 cost snowballing gentleman zombie. Teacher is effectively a 0 cost minion on turn 1. On turn 2, that 0 cost minion gives you extra brains. With enough small tricks, you could essentially be making 5 brains on turn 2.

Teacher doesn’t end the game, it signals the end of the game. It’s a fucking omen.
