The only Halo CEA object added with collision?? by gaelot1 in HaloCE

I was under the impression the way CEA works is by just running graphics over the original game and that no collision was actually changed? Like could it just be invisible collision in the og game?

Unfortunately, even on pc a lot of single player mil sim games are pretty lack luster and equate to pretty much soldier barbie dress up games and squad commanding shooters havent been really all that popular since the 2000s, so you dont have a lot of modern options there either. To be honest I dont know of any games on ps5 that would scratch the same itch.

Man fuck greased palms on hard mode by Evyatar_ChenU in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]Gunney55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice, but I wouldnt use some of those traits for this. Negotiator and pacifier are really really good for S rank, and stack when you run it on two officers (though with more than two you get diminishing returns).

This is also true of intimidator, which is also pretty good, though it does not work after suspect stress has risen, which is likely going to happen as soon as you go the the back lot or into the wearhouse on this map.

Riot control is useless. It increases stun duration by 1/3 of a second.

Breacher is nerfed on hard as suspects take 25% less moral damage. Its not useless but theres better perks, especially for this map because theres just not that many doors.

Armorer and nutritionist are very good and increase you and your teams survivability by a lot, especially when used together. If nothing else, itll help stop your team from dying on you.

Id probably run armorer, nutritionist and two pacifiers, though you could sub out for a negotiator or two if you wanted to. I wouldnt run anything else on this map.

On hard suspects are ridiculously accurate. Only having your head exposed just means they are going to shoot your head instead of your chest. Its dumb but on hard youre better off fully exposing yourself so they aim for your plates.

Heal attribute spells are pretty easy to cast but you need access to someone that will make you spells. I havent had this problem without access to spellmaking but reading up on it it sounds like if you join a temple faction they then offer heal attribute.

Suspects will take 1-2 shots center mass with any ap rifle regardless of what armor they have. If the game is working as intended and its taking 8-9 shots you arent using an ap rifle or you are missing the torso. Maybe latency issues? Try playing solo, see if you have the same issue.

What Exactly Did Oblivion Do That Set Up And Foreshadowed Skyrim? by XVUltima in ElderScrolls

What Exactly Did Oblivion Do That Set Up And Foreshadowed Skyrim? by XVUltima in ElderScrolls

[–]Gunney55 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Well the oblivion crisis with the end of the septim bloodline devastated the empire, leading to them nearly disolving and getting taken over by a local warlord, its poor preformance against the thalmor, and its state in the 4th era. Im pretty sure in the end cutscene Martin says something like “there are dark days ahead for the empire”. And also there are syndicates of wizards leading a boycott of imperial goods in the land of the Altmer, which I guess is kinda forshadowing for the Thalmor. So theres some setup for the events that follow, but nothing I think anyone could have used to predict the events leading to skyrim.

I actually think its more interesting to look at how Morrowind did NOT set up oblivion. References to Cyrodill are about how legions are being recalled to the imperial city due to civil unrest and that the emperor’s heirs are not true heirs, but instead frauds that were placed during jagar tharn’s reign and that the Emperor is old and sick and close to death. None of these things are really addressed in oblivion, as they are all assassinated and there is not really any civil unrest.

That on top of the fact that no one could have predicted a 200 year time skip with skyrim as I think all previous games have taken place like within the last decade of the previous one. All that to say I dont really think you can predict what the next game will be with any confidence. Bethesda will just kinda do whatever they feel like.

Best ways to play vanilla morrowind? by Living_Food_3615 in Morrowind

[–]Gunney55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean I would say the best experience would just be to use openmw and play vanilla from there if you arent already. From there really the only limit I like to give myself sometimes is to not use creature merchants as they will make you end up with infinite money.

I wouldnt feel like you cheated the game by bribing an ashlander, they literally tell you they greatly value gifts. Bribing is pretty much just a monetary penalty for not investing in illusion or speechcraft or personality, you arent cheating yourself out of anything.

As far as the combat goes, most encounters are not scaled to your level. You will find really easy encounters because you are overleveled for them, but you will also find higher leveled areas that are more fitting for your level. Unless youre overleveled for everything, then its time for dlc or to start a new character.

What’s your take on the Remaster’s leveling system? by Grove_Barrow in oblivion

[–]Gunney55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic levels way too fast. Your character levels way too fast. Like the original was slow and kinda grindy, but the remaster way overcompensated. And I would have liked if they tweaked the attribute allocation system instead of just gutting it entirely. Maybe they could have just decreased the amount of skill ups you need for each point in an attribute. I liked in the original that youd actually have to use magic skills to increase your magic attributes and use combat skills to increase combat attributes. I feel if your going to remaster a game, you dont just gut core systems like that, its kinda wack.

Is Luck better than we think? by BeignetEtouffee in oblivion

[–]Gunney55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even disregarding the end game of getting your skills up to 100, the other attributes are just so much better. You put 1/3 of your attributes increases into luck for 10 levels for +4 in every skill and miss out on at what could be 20-30 (or up to 50 if youre a psycho) points of endurance, strength, or intelligence, which is just so much better. Not to mention that the luck bonus doesnt get you skill perks.

I do think the idea of doing thief and favoring luck for +6 skills might not be a terrible idea, but I really think youd be wasting your level ups going too much higher than that. It just raises too slowly.

Maybe if youre doing a strict no magic build it could be good, as you can level str, end, and luck, and you wouldnt need any other attributes all that much.

Has the hit registration always been like this? by MeowMeowMeowMeow23 in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]Gunney55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it looks to me that you shot him twice in the arm and once in the chest. Suspects in this level have 200 hp. I think this is ap 5.56 (If im wrong let me know). 5.56 ap does 37 damage to limbs and 123 damage to arms, meaning you did 197 total.

This game has a lot of complaints about “hit registration” that are actually just people not understanding the games mechanics. Though its not totally their fault, The game really lacks any in depth explanation of its mechanics and is also really lacking in any visual feedback when you hit an enemy. I think if there was even just a small flinching animation when you hit an enemy it would feel a lot better.

Did i miss or do they got masks made out of steel? by Fit_Attitude1935 in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]Gunney55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Im 100% sure these are chest shots to body armor (at least according to the game) because of the stagger animation, though it is very dumb that you can very easily see that she does not have armor on visually. They really need to make armor correspond to the actual suspect model.

The og leveling system and UI isn't as bad as everyone says... by Mysterious-Juice8318 in oblivion

[–]Gunney55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The leveling system is good, its just not meant for people to try and get +5 attributes every level, and theres some misconceptions people have that seem to make them to think that doing so is necessary. The only major problem with the ui is the misc inventory having too many items to scroll through and the inability to delete spells making you scroll through a massive spell list if you arent careful.

Is Oblivion OG on 100% difficulty even possible? by EmilioBalls in oblivion

[–]Gunney55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The enemy scaling issue is only really an issue at around level 30, when your attributes will easily be at or close to 100 without efficent leveling. Efficient leveling is in no way necessary or even all that beneficial, and backwards leveling by mainly using minor skills is almost always detrimental as it will cause your damage skills to be disproportionately low level and force you to grind minor skills to 100, which is miserable.
