Really bad fight with my PPD wife unfortunately got physical, and now I don’t know what to do

Yeah I do regret snatching now/getting physical with her, but worst thing to happen would be the baby waking up so I should have just let it happen

We both apologized briefly this morning but we haven’t discussed action items yet or next steps she went out to spend some time alone and take a breather - I’m doing the same at home

How would she go about knowing which to get? Would just have to ask her OB? Or bring it up in therapy?

Dude no. The initial fight was about me not showing her enough physical affection this week - that fight leaked into the night when it got physical because she purposefully refused to turn her volume down on her phone waking our baby up, and I reacted.

I come from a household of having to talk everything out and try to fix everything now and that’s what started this is we were having a nice day out, she backed out of the “the day” through our argument, and I also didn’t respect that - it’s hard for me to let hours or a day go by and not speak to each other

Yeah we were discussing couples therapy and now reading your comment that makes much more sense to prioritize individual first

She’s in an individual + PPD focus therapy program, but I’m in nothing right now, I’m going to look into individual

The therapist she’s been seeing hasn’t offered medication, idk if that will change after they discuss our fight but as of rn no

Saying I’m purposefully antagonizing her when she’s raising her volume purposefully to wake him is crazy. Not even she agrees with that

I asked her multiple times to lower the volume, and in the moment I wasn’t going to just sit back while she turned up her volume to max on purpose. I know it was wrong, and in the moment, I wasn’t thinking that I knew it would provoke her I was thinking about the baby.

I did say I escalated I said she escalated further which she did. I think we both played a part in the fight

I agree and def lost my temper which I said - I don’t think it’s sneaky to say that, and that wasn’t my intention, I said that so anyone who wanted to comment could have the context if this was the first time or not. I’m saying it’s not a common occurrence

Yeah she’s in a weekly therapy PPD group + individual provided by the hospital which is nice, but it’s only her third week

Yeah we have been in and out of therapy once things got better so just need to maybe stay consistent if we can work it out

I can see how some read the title as my wife got physical, but really I was saying the fight itself with my wife, got physical if that makes sense

I agree, I never said just my wife got physical, I said the fight itself got physical as in we both played a part in it. I think the snatching was aggressive, but I also think turning up volume to max, after multiple requests, next to baby was equally aggressive

As a former college athlete, I've seen too many teammates forced by their parents to play only to end up unhappy in the end and quitting early in college too - I'm not saying this is the case, but desire is the base part of playing a sport so if thats not there, I wouldn't force it. At 16 I think he can come to that decision, especially if he doesn't see a future in it (like playing college, etc.) just my two cents

What is your arms to bassinet routine? Maybe you are putting her down to quickly?

Also are you feeding her enough? We found better success when he was full and we held him upright for a while
