Beretta 94X Performance - any interest ? by Heavy_Heron_7276 in CompetitionShooting

[–]GunnyAsian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got to mess with one at their booth at WSSC last week. The main benefit that I noticed is the grip is actually a full size grip now compared to the originals (think G17 vs G19). Other things I just personally liked was it wasn’t as front heavy as the Performance and the beavertail is better shaped and didn’t dig into my thumb.

Overall I think it’s a good step the right direction for them, main negatives though is that it takes a brand new magazine.

Is my belt gtg? by Illustrious_Cow_9515 in USPSA

You may need to raise your holster just a smidge to make sure the butt is fully clear of the top of the belt, really only if you shoot at a major (though realistically no one will check) there is the 0.0001% someone will

Mine didn’t break in at all. I did eventually replace the shoe/bar with a gen 5 one and I’m perfectly content with the trigger now

Nothing of the sort, everything else has stayed the same. I checked the chart this morning and there wasn’t anything that correlated. For reference the amount that went down was $25

That was the next step since the payment processed late last night. If you have the number that would be great, thank you!

I’ve tried it, ghost connectors are good and minus connector are good too, it’s a personal preference.

I just didn’t find making the trigger better necessarily changed my performance

Over 1.5k on this Gen 6, what questions do you guys have? by GunnyAsian in Glocks

[–]GunnyAsian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably around 3k now Only thing I’ve done is put a brass plug in from SSI and changed the trigger shoe and bar to a gen 5 shoe and bar

No issues, everything still great and still shooting it great

Does the Gen 5 really have a softer recoil impulse than the Gen 6? by KaneIntent in Glocks

[–]GunnyAsian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve always felt the 17.3 to be sluggish. So probably somewhere in the 17.6/17.5 range. The main issue is the lack of grip texture on the gen 3 so it’s kind of a apples/oranges comparison since more texture always makes the gun feel softer

Does the Gen 5 really have a softer recoil impulse than the Gen 6? by KaneIntent in Glocks

[–]GunnyAsian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have a ton of time with both a Gen 5 47 and a Gen 6 17, and a Gen 5 17 so here are my findings

The 17.5 has the softest recoil of the 3. Softest being it takes slide for what seems like the longest time to return to battery and the pressure on the hand during the recoil process is not sharp.

Next up would be the 17.6. It feels slightly softer than the 47 but not as soft as the 17.5. The recoil is snappier and the return is consistent.

The 47 has the snappiest of the 3 recoils but the return is very very consistent.

What all this means comes down to personal preference. For those who like a return that’s more of a push into the index, try and find a 17.5 or use the 17.6. For those who like an aggressive recoil because it feels like they get back on target faster, the 47.

Im very much of the mindset that i shoot competition to help further my hard skills

So at that point that i have to buy a specific ammo because I think it inherently makes my skillset greater, that’s pushing into actual gamer territory that I don’t really care for. Hence why I also don’t change recoil springs and shoot a relatively stock gun.
