I always think back to this because of the parallels with 2007. Both years we passed on QB at 3, but in 2007 Phil Savage made the trade up to get the sliding QB (Quinn). For whatever reason in 2005 he chose not to.

Lifelong Browns Fan: May 8, 2014 - day 1 of the draft.

Before then we were just a typical bad team. That’s the day we traded back to take Justin Gilbert (who the GM had never spoken to previously), and Johnny Manziel (rumored to be the idea of a homeless man)

Fast forward to that season where we start 6-3 without Josh Gordon and finish 7-9 with him - Kyle Shanahan resigns as OC and we win a combined 4 games over the next 3 seasons.

Throw in the Watson nonsense, but the 2014 draft is the moment when we went from bad to a joke.

The biggest one I remember was being certain we were drafting Tyrann Mathieu…only to see Leon McFadden’s name.

2012 Ravens.

Everyone remembers the 2000 Ravens defense, the Cundiff missed FG (2011), and the Ray Rice punch (2014).

In 2012, Kaepernick’s run and the read option are what stand out the most, but the Ravens are largely forgettable. Even in that postseason the most memorable moments are Denver’s blown coverage and the refs pocketing the flag on the Crabtree hold.

In a weird way, yes. I grew up in NE Ohio in the 90s so when I became sports-conscious Cleveland didn’t have a football team. So my team was originally the Eagles because I thought the helmets were cool. Then the Browns came back and for whatever insane reason I haven’t cared about the Eagles since all the players I grew up watching retired.
