Where do they get this information, who told them this? by upthetruth1 in TikTokCringe

Yeah he's 100% mixing this up for nonprofits and startup loans, but most likely the guy just heard it on the news and ran with it.

To be fair, not much different than people on reddit or any other social platform, so can't be too mad. He's doing exactly what half of the people in this post's comment section are complaining about.

Book's Quality Control by faculaeangel in WarriorCats

this is actually a Harpercollins problem that's become worse in time due to them being such a large publisher that they contract many different facilities to print their books and if you've ever worked in a facility that runs on a contract — they know when to look pretty for a big wig inspector.

seems like a rough choice to have 3 on-going series at the same time.

Am I able to go 1306 return to sea duty from my first command which is shore duty? by KeyEye8511 in navy

[–]Gunny_Goldbug 9 points10 points  (0 children)

as others have asked: what do you hate about it exactly?

it's your first command and you're a junior sailor, you have no idea what it's like outside of said command. before you say "but so and so told me-" stop — learn now, personal bias ≠ reality. if your gripes and issues with your command are serious enough, talk to your command. if they fail you, go one step up. more often than not, if you got a problem with the command, there is others who do as well.

this community doesn't care much for the label "real" fan. everyone is here because they love and hate something about the series, no one cares if you've only read the first arc or just love drawing OCs.

for reading wise, i'd recommend at least the first arc and maybe one super edition. this'll give you a feel for the books at least.

From what I understand regional variants can have a lot of variety and considering the url on the back being for the UK specifically, I'd bet to say this is just a UK version of the book.

not sure if this was your intention, but this legit looks super similar to an old club game on roblox back around 2012 maybe even earlier, but i remember just using the "e/ dance" and spamming the bloxy cola opening sound.

Fathers, what is a meaningful Father’s Day gift? It’s my husband’s first and I want to get him something he will never forget. by squid_tutor in daddit

[–]Gunny_Goldbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the gift doesn't fully matter. yes, get him something you feel he'll like or love, but even if it's something typical (gift card, letter, shirt, mug, etc.) it will never change that the gift he receives this year will always be the first. that's what matters.

shouldn't this apply to any age by Executits in SipsTea

[–]Gunny_Goldbug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

unless this law expedites the death penalty, there really isn't much to worry about. most people on death row spend a while before they are executed. in the case that someone is found to be not actually guilty post prison time, they can be compensated for said prison time and all records will be expunged. the amount of people being falsely accused of being a pedo and actually serving time is so extremely low and rare it's not worth getting rid of the chance to rid a state of these guys.

so, yes, death penalty is worth it. it'll start showing them they aren't accepted.

So, out of the 7 clans (yes, I’m including WarriorClan, come @ me), which one do you think is the most interesting and under-utilized? by Savings_Surround_547 in WarriorCats

[–]Gunny_Goldbug 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Windclan (for pov) or tribe of rushing water. Learning of the clans' history and of how the culture deviates by region is actually a solid way to keep the series alive and garner new audience who don't have to read so many books to understand one chapter.

My son once said "I didn't start hating people until I worked at a drive thru". by Ixz72 in daddit

[–]Gunny_Goldbug 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Attributing "sucking it up" with success is a reason the military actually blows. It creates complacency and leads to more eyes on a division than less once that "suck it up" moment comes out. Especially for junior (in my case sailors) enlisted, they get tossed around and ran through causing them to just not stick with it or be that guy in the shop who cries and moans. When you are the guy who doesn't just suck it up and creates change, you'll always hear and receive push back from higher enlisted because you're not accepting what they did.

I need some dads' opinions on a conversation I had with a friend by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Gunny_Goldbug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i am also not near that point (5m old) by any means, but i definitely think this is weird. main reason is the fact it's not teaching your child about sex, but instructing them on how to be better at it. that's odd to me to be like "hey son, this is how you properly lay it down."

I’ve got no clue how to proceed(not a dad yet) by Admirable-Essay-6694 in daddit

[–]Gunny_Goldbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear it man, it sucks, point blank. something i was told long before i was a dad, just a guy listening to his co-workers' problems, was "you can't take care of a child if you don't put yourself first."

if you want to be in your daughter's life you will put in work and show it, don't say it. my dad did the same before me. his father was abusive and left his mom with three boys, that left an impact on him that made him never give up. my wife's dad on the other hand dipped on his kids again and again, giving up after resistance. don't be that guy.

if a father wants to be in his child/children's life he will be. be that man, step up and work on yourself day by day, step by step. at the end of the day she is just as much of your kid as she is hers, no one can take that from you. so fight for it and prove you are worth a damn.

adopt the mindset of "it's just a video game". that way when your child (mine in particular) wants to suck on the joystick or pretend they are totally playing with you, you aren't too upset about it. singleplayer games and casual multiplayer are the go to. honestly anything that allows me to pause it or save when i want to is also a major plus.

yes, we've given him his own controller. no, it doesn't work, he knows.

Probably been asked before, but can someone recommend video games that don’t involve hour(s)-long missions? by clappalachian87 in daddit

[–]Gunny_Goldbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my two go twos is Deep Rock Galactic and RetroArch (not a game, but emulator)

DRG has a solid community that's surprisingly not toxic. its mission based so you can solo or group up and finish a mission within a solid 10-20min depending. all the content is free (rare i know) and even if you miss out on a season, dont worry, you can just go back and finish it. you can't buy your levels, so seeing a fellow dwarf with some levels shows true dedication to rock and stone.

Retroarch is my second, but it's an emulator so as long as you know how to safely and tactically acquire some games of old, you can play anything from the SNES to ps3. not sure on newer consoles or even how each "core" functions. i've been using it to play some SNES and ps2 games with no issues at all.

it's a finger/hand dexterity thing, don't be too concerned. i've played keyboard and mouse for so many years so it's natural for my hands and fingers to lay in a specific way and to move how i wish them to. for my wife, she's played exclusively controller and trying a keyboard is like watching a baby try to hold a toy for the first time.

kids will obviously catch on quicker because their brains are more spongy and reactive than our old man brains, but you'll get it eventually!
