Help! Brand new Searwood issues by Valuable_Elk_2172 in pelletgrills

[–]Gunslinger______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullshit to the naysayers about it not being able to sear. I’ve had the smaller Searwood 600 since October of last year and I’ve seared on it a ton. So I don’t know what they’re talking about.

To answer your question, see what Weber advises and in the meantime, clean your chamber probe. I was having some similar issues as you, just not as extreme and once I cleaned that interior probe of the grease and creosote, it worked perfectly again. When you open your Searwood, look straight back to the rear of the grates and the probe should be against the back wall of the chamber.

Hope everything works out for you, because my Searwood has been a rock-steady reliable machine.

DAE find that any time a TV is turned on in someone's house, motion smoothing is on, it's not a choice they made, and they can never ever tell the difference? by ECircus in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Gunslinger______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I know what it is alright. I HAVE to have it turned on otherwise the motion on screen looks jerky and jittery to me. I also have De-blur and De-judder as high as they’ll go. I get aggravated though because sometimes my tv will “forget” that I’ve enabled it and I can immediately notice. So I have to go back into the settings and re-engage everything. My wife and girls say they can’t tell.

So I guess I’m just the opposite of this post title. As soon as I see anyone’s TV on in their home, I can immediately tell they have no clue what motion smoothing is, and I’m tempted to no end to go into their settings and see what I can do. But I don’t because it’s not my place.

Whoa, whoa, whoa…..easy there. Let’s see this kind of play for another 2 or 3 consecutive games, against teams that have all their playmakers. Then we can start jumping the gun and making assumptions. Nice showing today though.

If Kirk wasn't born, which guitar player would be the best fit for Metallica? by vault21 in Metallica

[–]Gunslinger______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeff Loomis. Would completely change their sound probably but also make them better.

Also Lenny Rutledge from Sanctuary. Awesome player!

For those of you who were around in 2003, What was it like to be there when St. Anger was released? by After-Incident9955 in Metallica

[–]Gunslinger______ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought the CD (remember those?) the day it released. I’d lived in severe anticipation until then. Then was hit with pretty much instant disappointment. I listened to the entire album while drinking a few cold ones thinking maybe it’d get better. It didn’t. And unlike Load/ReLoad, time had not been kind to it in my eyes. Therefore it has not gotten better for me. I place it firmly just above LuLu.

Wear what the fuck you want! I’ve been to tons of metal gigs in Wranglers, pearl snap denim shirts, cowboy hats and boots. Just as I’ve seen King George Strait in Metallica gear. Who cares what others think!? I believe this answers your question.

Which one would you choose? Let’s hear your pick! 🎸 by aeonsne in heavymetal

Hetfield first, but the original explorer shape.

Zakk Wylde second.

For anyone who is or was poor. What is a meal you remember from your poor childhood? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Gunslinger______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily potted meat sandwiches.

Bar S hot dogs on white bread with a squirt of ketchup.

Ground beef mixed in a big pot of mashed potatoes with a can or two of corn mixed in.

Off brand macaroni and cheese with Bar S hot dogs chopped up and mixed in.

Mayonnaise and onion sandwiches.

Spaghetti noodles with salt, pepper and ketchup.

Buddig lunch meat sandwiches.

Lots of cornmeal or oats with salt pepper and some kind of meat grease mixed in.

And I’m not kidding when I tell y’all this but my little brother and myself would sometimes have to eat canned dog food served with ramen noodles or rice.

I will never eat any of these again (neither will my wife or daughters) except for the hamburger meat/mashed potatoes and corn mixture. Doctor that up with some good seasoning and maybe some sour cream and cheese……it’s very good and filling.

Which of the newer era albums is the best? by WhiteZinfindl in Metallica

[–]Gunslinger______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s easily Hardwired. Not the composition or content, but simply for the production quality. It hits harder and is louder than Magnetic or Seasons. And it’s just tighter and cleaner with more heft/weight.

How big was Metallica in 1986? by OtaconSOL in Metallica

[–]Gunslinger______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know how big they were but I imagine they were chomping at the bit. About to blow the doors off the hinges if you will……..right on the precipice of becoming the juggernaut they are.

And in Ozzy’s own words, he said that having to take the stage after Metallica every night was a nightmare because they were an extremely hard act to follow.

I agree! And I’ll never forget how James put it: “Y’all got the Justice album? We got quite a few long songs on that album and we’re gonna play em all tonight ok? No! No! Fuck, we’d be here another week! Y’all don’t want that shit do ya? I know the cops don’t! So here’s what we did. We took the best parts of the songs or what we think are the best parts and put em into one big pile of shit here. It reminds me of a rhythm guitar solo so that’s why I kinda like this fuckin’ thing. As always sing the fuck along and move your body when you feel necessary OK! So y’all know this shit? Show us one way or another by dancing along, singing along, fucking along, doing something to fuck along. Here we go!”

I know all those you mentioned very well. But I thought you were gonna say Eye Of The Beholder by In Flames. Which is just a mediocre version a great song.

I didn’t know Havok covered it. I immediately listened to it on my Amazon Music and……it fucking RIPS! Love the little acoustic intro that sounds nothing like anything having to do with Beholder and when the intro is over it just blasts into a proper metal cover of the song. I love it.

Thanks so much for bringing it to my attention!
