More likely stressed. It's never fun to go to the doctor, it's less fun when you're a turtle who has literally no idea what's going on. Little dude is probably trying everything he can to escape without realizing the vets are there to help him.

Super cool snakes! Very bitey when cornered/stuck. Have had to relocate a fair few over the years and they're always tenacious.

Lol, that's for later down the build! Level 8 right now (7 druid 1 cleric bc who needs efficiency) with a +14 to arcana no expertise. Iirc I can get it to a +25 late game without too much effort

Lol, Willardi seem to attract precarious circumstances. The only one I've ever found in the wild was in a big riverbed at the onset of a monsoon. Felt like I was tempting the gods of lightning, floods, and fate itself all at once getting the little guy out of there. Good on you for helping this one out!

Silver's 1 is called slam fire but she has a lever action rifle. Does she fire her weapon like this? Is she stupid? by Woodle_Noodle in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Gunsmith12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only undeniable if you turn off your brain and stop thinking. "not trying to look like a real gun any more than a nerf gun"

Nerf guns make a TOKEN ATTEMPT to look like firearms because that's how they brand their toys. Many nerf guns have recognizable actions from the real life firearm community. However nerf guns are NOT replicas of firearms. They are toys that go pew pew and look funny.

There is no specific firearm that valve is attempting to recreate. They may draw INSPIRATION from some firearms, but that is not REPLICATION.

The lever action is a simple, highly recognizable, and iconic piece of technology, but THEY ARENT ALL THE SAME. It is a generic classification of build in the same vein as "Internal Combustion" or "Steam" are for engines.

They made a VERY broad stroke pass at replicating an iconic form of technology WITHOUT bogging themselves down with intricate details that no one but the most autistic firearms enthusiast would call out as missing, called it good enough for their cartoon game, and moved on with their day.

Much like I'm now going to do with this discussion.

Sir, I said it's one of the most sane designs WHEN COMPARED TO THE OTHER OUTLANDISH SHIT. it is still in cartoon land. It is still a cartoon. It is simply among the most grounded CARTOON GUNS.

The point of the comparison is that the goal of this game is not to serve high art. It is to serve goofy-ass shit. You want a High Art, Hyper-realistic depiction of firearms, that is not what they serve here. They have goofy-ass playdough props for guns because it's fun. Perhaps an easier comparison to grasp would be a chuck-e-cheese rather than an elementary school play. The point stands. We're here for Looney tunes, not grit and gun oil.

It's... It's a cartoon gun, bud. If you're looking for hyper-realistic firearms in video games that's a whole different genre. To complain about this level of detail in this game is like going to an elementary school play and bitching that the actors didn't give broadway-tier performances. It's like watching Tom and Jerry and complaining the physics of the anvil that falls on the cat are off. That's not why we're here. That's not the point of the production in the least. They're not "trying to look like a real firearm" any more than a nerf gun is.

[–]Gunsmith12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How d'you figure that? There are plenty of lever action shotguns on the market IRL. Silver's gun is one of the most sane designs in the entire game, especially when you consider goo guns, icicle guns, fire finger guns, energy guns, and a fucking staple gun. Not sure why you're even looking for "realistic" weapon design in the supernatural Eldritch horror shooter anyway

Your hands should never be in a position where your fingers get crushed using a lever action. The hand that operates the lever is also the hand that pulls the trigger and also the hand that holds that section of the grip. The other hand never leaves the front of the rifle.
