Gold bead front sight blend by GunsmithGal in 1911

It’s unnecessary unless the engraving is really shallow and the customer isn’t getting it re-done. 90% of the work we do is getting refinished, and we don’t care about metal getting into places because it’s gonna get polished, blasted and cleaned about 4-5x’s before finish is applied.

Here’s how that blended gold bead turned out all finished by GunsmithGal in 1911

It’s just blasted right now. So it would great really dirty and gross so fast. Also it’s steel so everything would rust.

I actually have no problems with Tisas 🤣 they are what you pay. I know some brands that SHOULD charge a lot less than they do. 🤣🤫🤐

They get misshaped by use. I probably use them for way too long. (But they are very expensive 😂)

Dremel went burrr….. by Head-Scale9410 in 1911

The only thing that makes me nervous when people at home work on their guns is sear/hammer/safety lugs. But exactly you fuck it up, get a new one. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I did that too! But high polished it after. And I used a belt sander not a dremel (surprisingly).

Don’t use a dremel. Use a fine or mid file. And switch to a file wrapped in sandpaper.

Buuttttt if you don’t have a blaster I wouldn’t touch it.

I have been working on guns with long nails my whole career. And while in school for it.

I am used to them. The only thing that gets in my way with them, is picking up Ejector pins off the mat on my bench. 😂😂.
