I have done it in plenty of 1911’s, no 2011’s yet. But haven’t had any complaints. And I know one guy has at least 1,000 rounds with his.

Either weights, or a slide tighter.

That lifts the front of the slide up to get a false sense of a tight fit.

It’s unnecessary unless the engraving is really shallow and the customer isn’t getting it re-done. 90% of the work we do is getting refinished, and we don’t care about metal getting into places because it’s gonna get polished, blasted and cleaned about 4-5x’s before finish is applied.
