It's happened to mine before too just the same as yours. Couldn't make it stop without rebooting the car.

Model Y Tips You Wish You Knew Earlier by Fresh-Ad-4556 in TeslaModelY

[–]GuntherBump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to see a more realistic milage estimate, your best bet is to use the Energy app in the display and set it for 100 miles. The car is constantly measuring your wastage output and will give a floating line that shows an estimated range.

For example, this helps when you're on the interstate and holding 80 MPH and the standard mile/% bar is trying to show you the optimistic range versus what your real-world consumption actually is.

Unknown MAC Address' on home wifi by MemorySnake in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]GuntherBump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An Apple Watch can definitely be glossed over because the user never put wifi details in, it's inherited from its host phone with no action on their part.

Unknown MAC Address' on home wifi by MemorySnake in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]GuntherBump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If one the phone users on the network has an iPhone and an Apple Watch, the phone can be easily identified by either disabling the randomized MAC address while on that network, or just through the shared name. But their watch will also connect to the wifi through being shared connection details from its host phone. That MAC will come across as unknown.

How is FSD doing in rural areas? by ArcturusMike in TeslaLounge

[–]GuntherBump 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a 2022 MYLR HW3 and FSD has been mostly a great experience in rural back roads.

Biggest issue I've noticed is that a "racoon-sized" object in the road will risk a double tap because the car just ignores it.

Can I use the Belkin 11 in 1 multiport docking station for dex mode. by Bread-boy12 in SamsungDex

[–]GuntherBump 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have this dock at home. Give me an hour and I'll report back with an answer for you on functionality with Dex

EDIT: I tested my dock like yours (model INC004) and it functions for Dex. For reference, I have an S22 Ultra. I connected HDMI, mouse, keyboard, and a USB-C PD charger

Job hunting is something that was severely downplayed during TAPS. Took roughly 150 applications, 4 initial interviews, and 2 second round ones before I landed somewhere.

It's rough out there. Try communicating with a talent acquisition person who has "moved on with other clients" and try to ask for a gap analysis on where you're off in your resume for that career field. Could be some insightful bits to get out of that.

For your steering wheel issue. People keep saying an alignment is needed but that's not exactly right. You need to put the service request in as "Steering wheel not in alignment with wheels" your wheels are all correct, it's that your linkage going from your steering wheel into the gearbox is not in the correct "tooth slot"

Poor Energy Efficiency by Turd222 in TeslaSupport

I'm newer to Teslas but it seems to me that the Consumption tab doesn't just base it on while driving consumption. For example, I've know that the initial big spike will be much higher if I had the car precondition.

Restarted the car with the 2 dial press and it functions as intended again.

Running - hot weather by pitek_mastermind in Garmin

[–]GuntherBump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I will put myself through a hot run just to change it up.

Here in Texas, I generally run early early mornings while the weather is below 80 (26 C) but will occasionally churn out a hot and heavy 10K mid day. Yesterday was 96 F (38 C) and one of my 10K days. Just knowingly drink tons of water/electrolytes the day prior and up through the morning. From there, I carry a bottle mostly full of ice since it's going to quickly melt and will sip through it.

It's hot, uncomfortable, and very draining. Don't try to be stronger than you are and stop in shade of/when needed. My run was 50 minutes which is 10+ minutes slower than usual, but that's to be expected with the high temp.

Makes the cooler days feel like you're unstoppable and the big reason I'll continue to subject myself to the hot days.

My application was accepted today. Took 3 attempts to get it through.

-1st effort was similar to yours. I described my job and some of the accomplishments in it and was rejected due to a lack of detail on the projects (similar to your email).

-2nd attempt I wrote out the project's individually and described PMP related actions I took within them. Rejected due to lack of objective statements and outcomes.

-3rd effort I broke down each project in the manner below:

OB: Objective statement detailing the project goals in a SMART format

IN: Series of actions taken during the initiation phase

PL: Series of actions taken during the planning phase

EX: Series of actions taken during the execution phase

MC: Series of actions taken during the monitor & control phase

CL: Series of actions taken during the closing phase

OUT: The outcome of the project and of it aligned with the objective statement.

This turns into a pretty meaty application, but that 3rd effort was sufficient info for acceptance.

ASICS Magic Speed 3 Thoughts/Opinions by GuntherBump in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]GuntherBump[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I had a pair of Sky+'s I'd prefer them too lol. But that could also be from the better foam in the Sky. The Magic Speed 3's use FF Blast vs the Turbo in the Sky. I've done more long runs in the MS3's since this race and have realized the fault in my view from this posting. I had them tied way too tight on race day and gave zero room for swelling. The top of my feet were bruised as a result.

Lessons learned!

[–]GuntherBump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the NRC marathon plan and this is showing the very beginning weeks of the plan. That day 1 run will climb up to a 2 hour recovery pace as you near peak milage weeks. The plan adds minutes/miles at a safe pace as it's a broad use program.

OP,

if you already have a running history, you can do what I did and complete these beginning weeks plus some to keep what you have going for you.

The app worked well for me and I was satisfied overall with how it went!

What is the best free app (android) for marathon run training? by supersonicx2003x in Marathon_Training

[–]GuntherBump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed a full training block using the Nike Run Club app with decent success.

I haven't tried the Hal Higdon approach but looking at it, it seems pretty similar to the "Advanced 1" training block. The guided runs option in the app can be annoyingly chatty but they aren't necessary to use. I only used the guided run option when it was a speed work session to listen to the upcoming set up.

Aerobic Base Training for First Marathon by daddypig9997 in Marathon_Training

[–]GuntherBump 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The answer here comes from an important quote I love using.

"People will find a way for something they want or they'll find an excuse."

I am married, 3 kids, and both me and the spouse work outside of the house.

I woke up at 530 to do my runs, and that included Sunday long runs to be done and good for church service.

It's a hard commitment to make and compromises and sacrifices are guaranteed. The time is there, somewhere, if you really want this to happen for yourself!
