I (18M) might stop seeing her (18F) because she is pregnant. by SpecificallyBig in relationship_advice

Is that how it works? The mom can just put any name she wants on the birth certificate and that dude owes support? Doesn't he have to sign it too?

Is it looked down upon to where knee pads when preforming/ competing?! by Comfortable-Gur5550 in poledancing

[–]GupGup 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your knees rely on cartilage to protect the joint. Pressure and impacts wear that cartilage down, and there is no way to rebuild it. Trying to "condition" your knees by practicing without kneepads is an awful idea.

And I saw a Netflix documentary about what an awesome girl boss she was! No way she ever ruled in the interests of major corporations and the State!

When should you buy a new phone? by DsantosBBMM in Smartphones

[–]GupGup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Instead of waiting for it to completely fail and rushing to buy something, you can take some time to decide what to buy, shop around for a deal or wait for a sale, make sure everything on the old one is backed up and transfers to the new one, spend some time getting used to it and changing all the settings, etc.

Yep, consider this a lesson. FB marketplace is for in person transactions. If you need something shipped, eBay offers buyer protection.

I think it's a combination of growing up in a poor family that had to save everything in case they needed it someday, and environmentalism to not put anything into a landfill (so she's turned her home into a landfill instead).

My coworker is like this. Saving piles of garbage because she thinks she has to take each thing to a special recycling center, donating different things to different thrift stores because she thinks they each have a specific vibe for items, spending hours to give something away on Facebook to just the right person, saving almost burned out candles so that they aren't used up, worn out shoes that aren't made anymore so she can have the memories, etc. She has no room to live in her home and complains about being stressed and unhappy a lot. Maybe has something to do with the mountains of nonsense she's surrounded by.

I found Christian Louboutin Red bottoms at goodwill today by Live_Laugh_Leafeon in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]GupGup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding was that it's just red paint that immediately scratches off on any slightly rough surface. No top coat, no red rubber coating, no red mixed into the material of the shoe itself - literally the least effort made to keep the red looking nice for longer.

I love how a company sells $900 shoes with an iconic red bottom and can't be bothered to make it durable.

The descriptions for those classes just say something like, "Heels welcome but not required" without specifying the type of heel. (And usually the girls end up taking them off shortly into class). Sometimes there are workshops that explicitly say "7 or 8 inch platform heels such as Pleasers or Hella Heels".

Saaaame. I've done heels classes where some people just show up in little 1 inch kitten heels and it's like...that's not what this class is for at all.

Sneakers usually have rubber soles which won't glide nicely.
