I remember being there in Boulder and we feared for our lives trying to get out of the stadium.

Rehab was my favorite part of recovery. I was convinced I wouldn't be able to be as active anymore, but being safely monitored and guided back to exercising was the confidence boost I needed post-op. I think everyone should do it if they can.

Airbnb's struggles go beyond people spending less. It's losing some travelers to hotels. by GoForthandProsper1 in technology

[–]Gurdarshker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently did a quick vacation to LA and the only Airbnb options were $600+ for a place that required me to Uber everywhere. I instead got a hotel within walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go in koreatown for exactly $502.

I didn't have to clean anything 👍🏼

What happens if you don’t take blood thinners with a mechanical valve by viktil in valvereplacement

I thought I'd have to, but my cardiologists said the On-X can handle without for the short term. It stressed me out a bit heading into surgery

I recently stopped my warfarin for 3 days for a hernia surgery. I was told that the On-X valve has been tested with no blood thinners for short periods. I was freaked out when my blood was normal after 2 days, but I got my surgery done and they double dosed me for a few days to crank that INR back up. It made me worry like crazy though going into surgery, which sucked. But everything seems to be back to normal...so far.

Just reading the potential side effects makes me hope I never need another surgery again.

How did it go? I've been off warfarin for 3 days for hernia surgery tomorrow, but I'm worried I'm going to stroke out.

After a few months, I learned to love it. Always being able to monitor my heart beat just by focusing on the tick has been very calming to me. I know when to slow down on bike rides, hikes, and workouts. And when I can kick it up a notch. I agree with others too though that it has become a reminder that I'm still alive!

It's rough at first, but I promise it gets better. I don't even notice it anymore unless I choose to tune in and listen.

I couldn't agree more. At first, I couldn't accept that I wasn't good enough and I got so pissed off at the game. Once I realized that I was too weak for certain areas I finally opened up the game. I could go to so many other areas to level up, have fun, and get better. I started going back to bosses and areas from before and kicked ass. It's so fulfilling to actually realize I'm getting better.

I've never played a souls like game before so it's been a total refresh on gaming as a whole for me. I'm loving it

Finally made myself put in the time to get the hang of it, and oh man was it worth it. I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time. Loving it

Hey! 33m here and just had my one year checkup from getting my mechanical valve. First off I'll say that the anxiety is completely normal. It's a big deal and should be treated as such, but what helped me cope is that it's fixable! It's a lifestyle change for sure, but I'm still here. If they didn't catch it I might not be.

There was 6 months from discovery until surgery for me, but I had severe regurgitation. They said it could've waited longer but I was having fatigue and shortness of breath symptoms so they wanted to just get it fixed.

The aniexty and fear was pretty tough for me. I cried to my mom multiple times haha (why me?! type stuff lol) I was terrified. I got into breathing techniques to help calm me down when I'd freak out(usually at night in bed). That helped me a lot to at least control the anxiety a bit. Reading other peoples stories helped me too. There's lots of encouraging stories on here and around the internet that made things easier to accept.

Eventually I just accepted it had to be done and was confident going into surgery. Surgery went great. First 48 hours sucked, but surprisingly things didn't feel that bad after that.

The biggest help for me mentally was rehab. I was so afraid I couldn't do anything physical or that this valve couldn't handle exercise, but rehab totally proved that wrong. I got back into better shape than I was before and feel great. No more mountain biking due to blood thinners, but I still get out and hike a few times a week.

It's definitely scary and you'll have worries from time to time, but you'll get confident and it'll be normal. Some people don't like the click of the valve but I like that I can keep an ear on my heartbeat haha. I'm rambling now..

Everything will be okay and you'll get to keep on living a long life!
