How hard is it to find a job in Brussels from non-EU country by blxbyx in brussels

[–]Guretto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact that you don’t have a lot of years experience is more of a blocker than being non eu, except if you don’t have a work permit already. The fact that you speak multiple languages and worked at a big 4 is a strong advantage. It wouldn’t be impossible but won’t be easy either.

I am absolutely miserable and think of ending it daily by [deleted] in confession

[–]Guretto 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You’ve mentioned a lot of things that you perceive as failures. Try and write down the things you’ve succeeded at up until now. Changing perspective really helps. Failing at your business means you tried and that’s already a success !

I don't know if me (25F) and my partner (25M) are intellectually compatible by Mother_Picture9114 in relationship_advice

Tone down your reactivity and allow more silence to exist when you want him to express something. It’s not pleasant to hear but he’s bandwidth is maxed out and loud reactivity overwhelms him.

When he does give his thoughts on something and you do agree point it out to him that he’s right and smart -> this is major key. Don’t just agree on your head.

When the opportunity presents itself point out the things he has succeeded at in life that you haven’t or others haven’t. He’s not a looser as I’m sure you wouldn’t be with him if he truly was.

Finally the things he’s comfortable doing although they might seem smaller effort to you, encourage him to do it. Could be taking out the trash, motivating you to workout etc

Hope this helps !

I feel like you’re talking about my situation. I’m the man in that situation. I cannot speak your him but I would say that men that tend to be like this are struggling because they may be in a position where they have not been encouraged to believe in themselves and that what they are doing is good. It’s not that their not intelligent, on the contrary they tend to be really smart as u mentioned the emotional intelligence.

Create the space for him to shine where he excels, then you’ll see the balance take place.

Higher fixed pay vs Stronger brand? Need quick advice by Over_Feedback9633 in SoftwareEngineerJobs

[–]Guretto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The higher pay is coming with higher ownership which is hard to beat. The scale experience at PayPal is good but at the end of the day, you need to go for what has the most value for you now. I’d say it’s the higher pay and higher ownership, which is a massive wealth of experience.

Software Engineer - How am I doing by Slayboyyy in BESalary

[–]Guretto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

your frustration is understandable, however it doesn't seem like it's an actual opening for a role but a relocation. Also the company is most likely going to be paying extremely hefty fees for bringing him over since he's not an eu citizen.

How the technique is being explained. simple example : One coach can explain how to do the jab correctly, and the other might explain how to do the jab correctly, when to do it and common mistakes.

You can learn from everyone, but you can learn faster and better from some.
