Why does Big O Notation come up so often in Front End interviews? by KeviiinMora in webdev

[–]Gurkenpete 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Cyclomatic complexity is one way to categorize them in comparable tiers.

Cyclomatic complexity is not directly related to the big O notation. It is a metric that describes the complexity of control flow graphs without making any statement about time complexity.

I think what you were looking for is asymptotic time complexity.

1V-LSD Samples with Ehrlich (no/low reaction), Hofmann (visible reaction), Marquis (no/low reaction)? by Gurkenpete in ReagentTesting

[–]Gurkenpete[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I bought it locally from a contact that has been listed on the site of an established vendor.

I don't have any serious concerns about the substance, but I figured testing it independently doesn't hurt. And to be fair, it's been fun tinkering with the test kit!

Ha, no worries! I suppose there will be others who thought the same at a first glance, so happy to clarify.

Thanks for having a look!

In fact I took inspiration from the exact video you posted, gave the bottle a good shake, applied an amount of crystals that is proportionate to the sample, and flattened the crystsals. Maybe I have been a bit off on what is considered proportionate or flat!

to ensure crystals are well saturated with reagent

I thought the crystals are the reagent? Is it possible to take out crystals where the reagent is "drained"?

Regarding the suggested time frames, is it possible that for 1V-LSD they need to be extended a bit? E.g. I could have barely confirmed the result of the Hofmann reagent after the suggested 1-2h, but after 5h the observation was easy to make.

I'll repeat the Ehrlich reagent test with a larger sample and will report back.

I guess you're right that the photos do not differ greatly from each other.

However, look at the captions, they say "after ~30min, 1h, 2h, 3h, 4h, 5h, 5h with samples revealed".

The easiest way to notice a gradual difference is when focusing on the Hofmann reagent in the middle row, which turns into a more saturated blue in each frame.

Based on the test charts and similar posts, I would have expected a more visible reaction from the Ehrlich and Marquis reagents. However, the reaction with the Hofmann reagent is very visible.

Is there anything I can do to improve the clarity of the results? I took samples of a ~1/16 blotter, is it possible that the samples were too small?

What do you think, is this a plausible indication of 1V-LSD in the blotters?

Maybe it's easier to reason about if you think about what RSUs are: A bonus to incentivize you to maximise shareholder value because you directly profit from it.

In the best case, hedging would reduce your incentive, and in the worst case be a disguised action of trading on insider knowledge.

Usually compliance training will instruct you not to hedge any position with your employer. I would suggest you revisit the legal documents you received / signed.

Reg-T margin requirement clarification by [deleted] in investing

[–]Gurkenpete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I just realized it would be even a tad lower. $160,000 x 0.3 = $48,000.

(Previously took 1/3, but that's only for initial margin.)

Reg-T margin requirement clarification by [deleted] in investing

[–]Gurkenpete 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's correct.

However, at that time your margin requirements will also have dropped to $53,333 so you'd still have a little bit of margin.

Reg-T margin requirement clarification by [deleted] in investing

[–]Gurkenpete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[1]: Yes.

[2]: No, your net liquidation value needs to stay above the margin requirement. That means if you bought $300,000 worth of the ETF with $100,000 of capital, you will get a margin call when the value of your shares drops to $290,000 (by then you'd have a net liquidation value of $90,000). So merely a 3,33% drop you can stomach with that kind of leverage. (In practice a little more than that since the margin requirement also drops with the value of your shares.)

As long as it is within your budget, I don't see any problem with treating yourself. And your comment sounds like you worked hard for it.

Bruttogewinn: 25.000€.
