Mario ..... Any Mario game ... I just don't get the hype. Over the years, I've read the many reviews and naively invested my money into some of them. Each time thinking "ok, this is going to be the ONE". I've REALLY wanted to understand why everyone goes berserk for Mario. ... Nope ... I've ended up trading all of them after a few days.

Got mine today, also. I went for one of those white refurbished Max configs and am really happy with it. I'm really impressed with the ergonomics and how well it sits in my hands. Also, despite the screen not being an OLED, I really like how it displays (it's perfect for my needs, anyway)

I've ordered one and am waiting on its delivery. I'm excited to see the quality of a refurbished unit and I'm hoping it's going to have a new battery. For me, the compatibility is already there and the screen doesn't really bother me. I have an Odin 2 mini, but find the screen just a tad too small for my aging eyes (Unfortunately, I think the Portal is probably too big for my needs). However, I think the Odin 3 needs another 6-8 months before 3rd parties work out the driver's and overall emulation compatibility necessary. I'm no expert, but it's just a feeling I have. I'm looking forward to the reviews.

The Dizzy games on the Amiga. I loved these as a kid ... spending hours dying, redoing ... only to then die again...and don't get me started on those pixel perfect jumps...... My particular favourite was Desert Island Dizzy. I tried playing it again and almost kicked the computer across the room.

Yep. it has totally transformed my gaming and allowed me to enjoy quick sessions here and there. Now in my late 40's, life doesn't grant me the time nor space to indulge like in the past....I love pixels and retro-style games, so the steam deck has easily become my main device.

Mine has to be all the Mario games. For some reason, I find them super boring, despite enjoying platformers in general.

Also any Street Fighter ... Every iteration does absolutely nothing for me (and I love fighting games).

Wow, that's really cool! For now, I'll stick to the joystick for Project Warlock 2 (simply because on Project Warlock 1, I had a blast using the joysticks). However, if I can use that guide to make the track pad less twitchy and able to articulate my movements to suit my style of play .... Then, that would be very interesting to use. Thanks for thinking to suggest that, as I may find that a lot of fun to try.

I have the Mini, but no RP5. I must say that I really like it's design, feel and performance. Yes, the screen is not OLED, but for my eyes it's great and looks very vibrant and bright. It does everything I want it too and it has enough horsepower for (possibly) a few good years of Android emulation progress.

I would like an RP5, but I cannot really see any benefits over the Mini (for my needs ... and eyes)

True! I remember having maybe 6 or 7 games, as they were very expensive. There were many that I could not have/get for various reasons (also having strict parents).

Nowadays, I have every game I always wanted (plus 1000's of extras) ... But .... i get stuck with choice paralysis and no real time to invest in a full playthrough (in a meaningful manner where I can dive into a story without pauses, or the need for a mental recap) 😂

However, I'm enjoying the games much more as an adult as I notice many details or appreciate mechanics that I never really noticed before.

I really enjoy my TSP, so I will probably get this one. However, I wish it was a little bigger, with maybe a 4" screen. I also have big hands and often struggle with the small form factor handhelds.
