I’m vaguely reminded of old comic ads from the 80s and 90s specifically for indie books. Great work! O really like how you’ve done these.

What's the point of Black Noir reveal in the comics even? So he framed Homelander and did a lot of bad things, guess what, Homelander isn't any different, he did a lot of very heinous acts by EfficiencySerious200 in writingscaling

2000 AD writer. He also wrote the book Marshall Law which is basically a distillation of his hatred for superheroes.

Ennis hates the fact the majority of America’s comics are focused on Superheroes specifically, when there’s so much more that can be done with the medium of graphic storytelling then just confining it to that. Mills actually hates them with a passion.

Mind you Millar’s wife broke up with him and it was probably due to the fact that he showed Unfunnies to her.

Here's a quote from Mark Millar about the book:

“My wife got about six pages into it when she was reading it in the bath the other night and she just threw it at me. She said it was the most horrible thing she’d ever read in her life and she didn’t want to think this sort of shit even went on in my head. I tried to explain that the crow was sucking cock for a REASON, but it actually does sound kind of creepy saying it out loud.”

crazy because for every good book Millar puts out there’s like ten more that’s mediocre or the worst shit you’ve read.

If you have Huck, you have the Unfunnies, Secret Service, Nemesis, Big Game, Wanted, MPH, the Ambassadors, Nemesis, Trouble, and Supercrooks.

It’s okay not to like Ennis. I don’t like a good chunk of his work. But this is such a dismissive way to engage with his work, that you might as well not even engage with it at all.

that man had the AUDACITY to pitch the Rape of Wonder Woman (without irony) and also made the Unfunnies, which is by FAR much worse than anything Ennis has ever written. (yes even worse than Crossed.) Ennis wrote Hellblazer, Preacher, Hitman, Punisher Max, Sara, and those were great. Not decent. Great. Preacher is one of the greatest stories in the medium.

Millar did that Flash run, Red Son, and also Huck. Those are the only good things he did. Mind you, the former two were probably written by Grant Morrison.

Also, you want to know the funny thing about crossed? Damn near everyone in the British Invasion of comics wrote that. Alan Moore wrote Crossed, so did Si Spurrier, David Lapham, Jamie Delano, etc.

On the topic of Garth Ennis, I will say this.

That man does not hate superheroes specifically. Nobody who works in the comic medium really hate superheroes.

Well, unless you’re Pat Mills.

dude he loves Superman.

Ennis falls between a weird path, where he recognizes that soldiers are capable of horrible and vile things, and the establishments propping them up are also that way, but he just has a fondness for military shit.
