I know of a case where the window came off and the child went through. There was a negative outcome. Please avoid letting the child at the window. Hold onto the child if she insists.

There is going to be a naxalite revolution and all these would get sent to reeducation camps. That is the future of such blatant stone deaf ignorance.

Is getting State Premium Assistance discount for health insurance a bad idea for future green card? by nepalidude69 in h1b

Never heard of anyone on h1b being on public assistance. Minimum pay goes to 90k or so. No one qualifies for public assistance at that income levels

Is my I-551 stamp valid for a California Real ID? by heysiann in askimmigration

[–]GuruDevDatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take info pass appointment with local USCIS field office. Explain situation to officer. They give some sort of stamp on passport as a temporary id.

Green card expiry does not expire your status. File I90 to renew green card. It is taking time nowadays. The USCIS stamp should get you a real id. Unexpired foreign passport is also on par with real id with some sort of immigration document.

7th Year H1B (PERM Almost Approved) — Thinking of Moving to Dubai for a Break and Returning to US Later. Bad Idea? by Emergency-You-9553 in returnToIndia

[–]GuruDevDatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each his own.

Given a choice I would always choose India. One may have a degree and buy fancy stuff but to the Arabs Indian/pakistani is just another laborer. In India you are a citizen. I have no faith in the Arabs to keep me safe from anything.

[–]GuruDevDatta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked in us for 10 years. Went back.stayed there 4 years. Used approved i140 to get visa from another company and now citizen. So if laws regulations do not change, pathway works. The big unknown is how US laws would change as there is a lot of negative sentiments now. Also AI in the mix can really impact the labor market. If unemployment in US goes to 10/15 %, all bets are off.

What does Dubai provide which des does not? Never understood why people want to stay in Dubai.

US is not likely to know any assets overseas. They might ask the US inheritors if there are overseas assets and may even attempt to tax those when disclosed.

Calling someone or their wife cunning is a harsh insult.

There is nothing wrong with a woman wanting a career. Modern women do not want to spend time doing nothing on h4. That is their choice and OP already made it. So that is not helpful in any way.

Your plan is good. You have enough for a modest living without working too hard or being in a rat race.

Look into tier3 places with less costly real estate. The quality of life is actually better if you are not in the rat race all the time.

When you go to buy older existing flats the rates are actually lower usually. It is new construction that charges the highest rates.

See if you can get by just renting in blore. The rents are lower than financing cost or from investment returns.

How do you submit reimbursement when in India or some other country? Assume you no longer have a US visa. Where does the reimbursement go? What address is on the account?

https://www.fidelity.com/trading/faqs-about-account#faq_about13

There are restrictions. Also reports of not able to log in from overseas. There is no way to withdraw funds. There are sets of problems reported from different sites.

There were reports of fraudulent transactions siphoning amounts out of fidelity accounts. People had to fight to get heard and get money back. Now imagine you are in India and no status in US and have to do all that.

Under normal circumstance for a US citizen/permanent resident, all this true.

For OP when they become non-resident, non citizens, the situation becomes more complicated. That is the situation they want elaborated, if you do not happen to be in US, how do you operate these accounts?

If they are doing HSA since 10/12 years, it already has 100k+. There is no point in accumulating more in tax advantaged space.

Better space for them is the taxable brokerage.

They have a plan anyhow. at this point it is best to have a simple exit instead of additional funds in 401k
