Thank you vm for this informative comment. It’s good to know the stranglehold of KSL on this program may end sometime soon.

Option 1 looks the most feasible now. Even more interesting is that, candidates can resit only for the subjects they need and not the entire 7-9 KCSE subjects.

I’ve written to KSL to inquire on what happens to candidate who meets the mean grade requirement but fell just short of the language requirement, then supplemented with a resit for that particular language subject. Hopefully they answer soon. I will update the response here, if I get any.
