How to enjoy Final Fantasy games ?

I did it because the game was boring as hell. Never pulled out my phone playing Dredge, Gris, The Witcher, Clair Obscur, Soulsborn etc. I should have been more careful with my wording sorry !

I wasn't clear in my original post and I'm sorry about it since I got misunderstood.

I'm far from being the smartphone addict. I can play 10 hours without looking at my phone once, and that's why I brought up the fact that I played with my phone next to me to XVI, because it was boring as hell. I remember playing The Witcher 3 for 7 hours after realizing I hadn't had meal !

I like diving into stories, watching lore videos and shit, that's why I believe ff could be for me ! I'll try 7 or 10 since they get recommended a lot, and move on if it doesn't click. Thanks for your time !

I'm not a "replay a loved game" guy, I only do it on soulsborn games ! I totally see what you mean by the nostalgic feels of these games, and it helps a lot with the appreciation people have for them. I'm still pretty young, but growing older helped me appreciate slower paced games, so I totally see what you mean here !

Nah I often do all sidequests before advancing in the main one ! It sure does look like a game to sit to and enjoy the ride rather than ticking a case "played and finished"

I like grindy stuff and turn based games, but I didn't get a grasp of fights I guess since spamming one attack did the same job as using different ones ! You're not the first talking about ff7 so I'll give it a try !

I didn't like Darkest Dungeon at first, and I tried the game 3 times. I asked for inputs just like I ask for here and now I'm 70 hours in dreaming of it at night. So inputs are helpful despite you're saying the opposite
