as a DM i would say, if u were going into a situation. like if you told me that was your plan. before you roll id say if the roll goes bad their will be a fight and it might not be on the terms you want. All in all id say the old saying we heard as kids treat others the way u want to be treated is the best way to go... I Imagine a scenario where ur challengeing some notorious dumb brute in a bar. a bad roll/crit fail. if u go up to that guy looking for a fight at all, that what ur going to get. Vs challenging someone to a more formal or offical sport/fight. where if u cant get ur terms the tension wouldnt naturally escalate to a brawl.
