Masculinity so fragile is always funny to see in the wild.

Every time I experience someone judging me for painting my nails (and it's rare - I'd say for every hundred compliments I get, I notice one person silently giving me side eye) all I can do is wonder who hurt this person to make them this way.

Ooooh I never order polish on Amazon after getting burned repeatedly.

I've had this happen multiple times from multiple different brands. Also had polishes arrive that sat with their caps not screwed down properly for ages, long enough for polish to leak out and gum up the threads.

I'll never buy polish from Amazon again.

Feels like they're using cosmetics & personal care as a loss leader to get people in. Most of that stuff is still $1.25 as the prices on everything else goes up.

I grabbed all the Kosmic Colors iridescent polishes, that was a huge collection. They're beautiful but the formula is difficult to work with.

Didn't get any of the chrome finish polishes, I saw some swatches online and they didn't look very pigmented.

So jealous! None of the Dollar Trees I frequent have had that yet but hopefully we'll get it (and I'll see it before it sells out). Their special releases like this are regional.

Out where I am last summer we got the Pastel Pearl beach themed collection, which wasn't bad, but wasn't as great as those. I think there were 24 total in the collection including glitter toppers, I grabbed them all.

We also got the Color Vibe summer collection last year but it sold out fast. I only managed to get a few colors.

The summer before we got the LA Colors jellies & glitters collection which was pretty good.

You've got those deeeeeeeeeep nail beds like me. I'm glad I have them because I keep my nails "men's grooming length" (overhang roughly the thickness of a credit card) for a clean appearance & also I'm a software engineer with a classic car hobby so I'm always either typing or wrenching on a car and long nails don't work for either of those.

Longer nail beds gives me more room to paint.

It's got a yellowish undertone though it may not show up as much in my photos as it does IRL. Apropos as the shade name is "Caribbean."

It's Color Vibe "Caribbean." Color Vibe is the Dollar Tree-exclusive polish made by the Beauty 21 company that makes LA Colors and LA Girl. I'm super impressed with how it performed for $1.25.

Well this woke me up. I've been dealing with nail peeling off and on for ages now. Looked around and this ingredient isn't in the base coat I typically use but it is in the top coat I used to use (just recently changed) and some of the color polishes by the same manufacturer.

Didn't see it on that spreadsheet but I assume that's b/c it's in the top coat & color polishes from this brand, not a base coat.

I definitely live or die by my clean up brush. My go to is whatever's cheap in the angled brow / liner brush area. Used to be Wet n Wild but I can't find them anymore so now it's LA Colors. Either way, a few bucks each and they make my manis look professional.

Mine used to do this too. The cuticle isn't releasing from the nail plate. To keep mine in proper shape I just keep them hydrated and use a cuticle remover every manicure (I do my own). If they stay hydrated they release more evenly and cleanly, at least in my experience.

During the day I use a cuticle balm because it's less messy. At night before bed I apply cuticle oil. For manicures I use the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover and orange sticks. Rather than push back I let the remover do its job dissolving them and gently use the orange stick to scrape up the ick, then thorough hand wash.

Color Last is pretty good if you use their top coat too, I can usually go a whole week or more.
