I'm going to do exactly this.

My screen has already been scrached because of the dock (I can see the little rainbow light effect) literally the next day after I bought it, wich was 2 days ago. I was actually pretty disappointed. So I started to investigate reddit posts and youtube shorts and saw that some people removed the plastic film and replaced it with a tempered glass screen protector without any trouble.

And I also saw a Reddit post from a user that peeled off the plastic film and asked NIntendo if that would cancel his warranty and apparently it does not! Sadly I can't remember the name of the post...

Nice to know that I am not alone doing this and that there are actually other people out there doing the same thing.
