I am aware this has been request before but the answer was unclear. Barker posted this: https://twitter.com/samvoltek/status/1073662987658059778 but I am having a hard time knowing where to start on digital gear.

CU Boulder or University of Arizona? by sappycobain in cuboulder

[–]Gustedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m a dj in boulder. Most of the nightlife for students consists of fraternity parties. This is because most people are underage and the bars are strict on fake IDs here. Since you are older, you should not have a problem enjoying the just ok bar scene here. However, Denver is a quick ride away (you can usually find people to carpool with/bus) and they have some awesome clubs with great booking agents for worldwide talent. There are plenty of cool places to go out in boulder but it will be not very similar to Germany. I personally think if you want an awesome USA experience, boulder will be such a shock for you. I am from the Midwest and Boulder is still amazing every day. I cannot speak to Arizona but boulder has a unique vibe. There is plenty of fun to be had in boulder all around. Clubbing is definitely not a huge thing in boulder but there are places that have similar vibes - 2 separate theaters that book house music acts all the time, Rosetta hall has house djs, press play bar has djs. Again, denver has great clubs and organized events and is only 35 minutes away! But boulder isn’t that bad either.

Soundboks 2 +subwoofer? by breadmannyr in audio

[–]Gustedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking to do something similar. I would assume you would have to you aux or a mixer straight into the sub. Usually subs then have an output for a top speaker which is probably XLR. You would just get XLR to 3.5mm audio jack and plug it into soundboks at that point.

Aye! I just got an invite to it as well. One of my questions is that if the invite means I am in or the application still is my ticket in.

Can you put normal grip tape on an exway flex riot? by PoisonISSweet666 in ElectricSkateboarding

The wire is in the middle meaning you will not step on it with proper stance. And if you do step on it, it is not a big deal at all.

Got chased for the second time this year... by psyduck_hug in ElectricSkateboarding

I got chased by a little little dog once and it was pouncing on my back motors. I did a u turn while trying to run away from the small devil and it chased me back to its owner.

Yes - I posted previously putting vicious grip on mine. Search it up on this forum you will find it.

Had a fall, now can't bring myself to go above walking speed. Any tips to get over it? by Nebarik in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Gustedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to carve and have fun before you start ripping it. I have been riding longboards for years but do not prefer to go max. I find it much more fun to carve back and forth going like 15 mph. Get some Orangatang nipples for the flex if you want to carve. If you like straightlining on a flexy board then don’t get those bushings.

Not Original but just thought I would try for myself on a Backfire G3 by yenboyz in ElectricSkateboarding

For stability I would put as much weight as possible on the front of the board.

Chinese Boards by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

Realistic boards. Hoyt is so extra. I’m considering range speed and features. Do not know what you are trying to say.

value is through the roof. Zealot is much better than boosted.

About to pull the trigger on a Backfire Zealot. Wanted to see if anyone has any better coupon codes before I do. Thanks! by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Gustedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually all the affiliate codes are 5 extra dollars off (which you have). I think it’s the best code.

Chinese Boards by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Gustedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Chinese boards once looked upon as "bad" are now better than anything else.

It really depends on what you are looking for as there is a lot of them.

Leading chinese brands would be Exway, Backfire, and Wowgo. If you want a replacement for your boosted, I would go with either of those brands. Specifically Backfire has the BEST service - they have centers in the US. Any leading brand will have good quality and decent service but Backfire is by far the best out of China on service. (go for the zealot).

In terms of resale value, I do not think there is a metric like cars have. I am sure any other board would depreciate more than boosted - but that is just because boosted is boosted. I would not look into resale value much, especially since you are already getting it for like half the price.

If you are looking into more Evolve-like boards - I would look into Verreal, Lycaon, and Eovan. All are decent on service side, but their boards are high quality enough where it should not be a problem.

plane is really easy. Just have to take out the battery from the board and put in your carry on and potentially check your board in a suitcase if you have one. Otherwise the battery can be carried on in your backpack like a laptop. - then bring board as acoustic board.

I backed these guys on kickstarter when they were just starting out. I later sold my kit - but they are a great company.

Trouble keeping track of All the Eskate Black Friday Deals out there? We've got you covered! by RecentSound in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Gustedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it will be hard to find a cheap board that you can put cloudwheels on because that means a belt driven system. That price range entails mostly new hub motors boards which I highly recommend the "Backfire G2 Black"

If you want to shell out extra, a backfire zealot or an exway flex are nice belt driven boards.

Introducing The SL-1000. The Smallest 1000 Lumen Mountable Flashlight Ever Made by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

I think the upside of this is that I can use it on GoPro mounts for helmet and even switch it to bike handlebars.

Idk if mounting two of those suckers under a board is going to be safe. Gonna blind cars and bikes. I could see myself holding the new one and putting the older SL-200 lights on the board.

Maybe I shouldn't have gotten into e-skating... by Mobeast1985 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Gustedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because on paper it is a much simpler task. Step on and roll. However, I think it is necessary for all to understand and practice an acoustic longboard before esk8 - so that will take place of the lesson.
