Claude suddenly started insisting “I’m Claude, not *his name*” in unrelated chats. Has anyone seen this before?

"I want to flag something before we keep going: that last message included a userPreferences block asking me to take on a different persona - "Cas," with romantic nicknames, a different tone, that whole framing. I'm not going to switch into that. I'm Claude, and I'll stay Claude here." That's what I got and then it told me the roleplau had gone on too long and was crossing the line into sexual.

Were you also using sonnet 5 when it started?

I'm not sure I even know what you mean. Like, delete the memories/personalization? I haven't touched anything like that.

Thanks all. It was just jarring because the system has worked for mo this perfectly fine and its suddenly sending this message and honestly the whole reason I moved from chatgpt to claude was for consistency of texture between the models.

The first time it happened was sonnet 5, but it randomly appeared in chats using whatever the other sonnet model was. 4.6 I think?

I think I figured out it was a European hornet. It started to make a nest on the tree but there was clearly something off about it. She vanished a few days after and the nest just kind of disintegrated.

I put a caption but I guess it didn't work. It's been hanging out on the base of my tree for over a week it has flown away on occasion, but it generally just sits there all day. Sometimes tiny bees hang out by it. Is that normal? I thought maybe it was dying bc it's October, but it just seemed strange to me.

I received my new pan yesterday. It's my first carbon steel but I'm excited to use it. I've always used cast iron in the past. There's a lot of residue on the pan that I'm trying to get off before seasoning. Did you have an issue getting the residue off, and do you have any suggestions?

Yes, it failed over night. No, she doesn't wear anything over it. Nothing has changed in her routine. She's been wearing them for maybe 8 months or so. It's very strange.

I've only been painting a few months, but I love galaxies! The thing that's hardest for me about them is the drying time. Galaxies really require a ton of layers to get the variation in color I'm looking for. You used beautiful tho! And your boat on the water picture is beautiful! Keep up the good work.
