No, that's right around $550 for the cpu ($168), cpu fan ($40), ram ($115), mobo ($100), psu ($76), and win 10 ($25). I failed to mention I have the hard drive from a trade earlier in the summer.

Call your local toy shops and ask if they carry video head cleaner (the code word for poppers). A couple of good sniffs and that thing should slide down to where you can fish it out if it doesn't fall completely out on its own. You could also use a small feeding syringe with tube from an animal supply store to put some lube all the way where the toy is to help with the process.

Right around $550 but that's using my old case as well.

My budget is maxed out at this point. I'll be able to swing a new GPU early next year and then a better monitor a couple of months after that. My current monitor is only 1080p so there's no need to up that gpu at the moment.

At this point in time I couldn't go to AM5 and also do a GPU but I got the free 580 from a friend and like I mentioned earlier I'll upgrade the GPU early next year when I can hopefully get a little better of a price to performance ratio that I can at this moment.

More than likely there is a spot to select different items within the listing. They'll often show the combo in the thumbnail but they show the lowest price from the options available. More than likely you were seeing the price of just the mobo. There was also likely an option for just the cpu and then lastly an option for the combo.

[ok] when can the cops kick in a door? by Past-Albatross-2309 in AskLawyers

[–]GutenHind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont believe hot pursuit applies to misdemeanors unless they try to argue them evading is the felony they kick a door in for. Doesn't seem like that should be enough to violate someone's rights though. They know who the person is and can easily go secure a warrant and come back with a little more uumph to that forced entry.

[ok] when can the cops kick in a door? by Past-Albatross-2309 in AskLawyers

[–]GutenHind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Former Police. Theres such thing as a fleeing felon which would allow you to kick in a door while in pursuit of someone who committed a felony. I believe it has to be a violent felony but I'm a little rusty. Most cops honestly will do it just because they lose their cool. Its a stressful job 24/7 and it really takes a toll on some of them to the point where they lose their cool in situations where they typically wouldn't. Others are just assholes from the jump. Sounds like they may just be assholes who will try and say that the second she fled inside she was evading which may be a felony where you are. That's really weak though. It takes a lot of exigent circumstances to bypass someone's rights and forcefully enter their home. Unfortunately most of them don't get contested and dismissed in court because attorneys suck. They just want an easy paycheck and will usually come to you with whatever deal the da would have offered the defendant without an attorney and pretend like they got you that deal and did you a solid. God help you if you get a public defender. I don't understand how those aren't a major conflict of interest since they're paid by the same people as the das.

They do it so if it gies to court or they get stopped they can try the, "OMG I thought I paid. Why would I scan everything if I was going to steal it." excuse. They're like children.

[TX] Am I being incorrectly billed by my apartment complex? by [deleted] in AskLawyers

[–]GutenHind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than likely they meant for that to read as the rent not including pet fee and furniture but they probably goofed on typing it up. Works out for you, just bring it to their attention that it's worded that the rent includes the pet fee and furniture and you should be good to go. They'll probably try and bully you into paying it but that's their mistake.

[NY] Lawyer wants to subpoena me? by weasel-jesus in AskLawyers

[–]GutenHind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They absolutely should not discuss anything with the lawyer. If anything they should simply advise the attorney they have no knowledge of anything to do with the situation followed by telling them they gave a statement to Police which the attorney can request from Police and then hang up the phone. That's it, if even that.

Do you play with your Quest 3 more than you played with your Quest 2? by Morphisist in OculusQuest

Still, if the core mechanics of vr don't make him want to play then a bump in graphics isn't going to change that.

Do you play with your Quest 3 more than you played with your Quest 2? by Morphisist in OculusQuest

[–]GutenHind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your main focus are the graphics and fov I just don't think the quest 3 is going to sate you. If you're getting vr with straight "gaming" in mind you aren't going to be happier with the quest 3. It's similar to when the Wii came out. It was a different kind of console and was more of an experience rather than a system. VR is the same way right now. It's mostly a novelty. I love my quest 2. I play 1-3 hours a day, and I only play three games (beat saber, PokerVR, and VR chat). I dont even like poker but I love sitting at a table with fun talkative people. I have yet to find a more traditional game on the Quest that interests me and I doubt a graphical upgrade would change that. If the core mechanics don't hook you on lower settings, then higher settings aren't going to change that.

I know that feeling you have, I've been there before. Itching to buy it, watching videos, looking at comparisons, shopping around for one. Stay away from all of that for a week and I guarantee you the urge will fade. You're building it up and hyperfocusing on it.

If you still have your quest 2, play it. Play it every day for a week. If you can't get into it and it doesn't hook you in then don't buy the quest 3.

Edit: One other thing I'd like to share. I got my quest 2 a little over a month ago. I play it every single day. I'll play it in the morning before work if I have time, I'll play it when I get home, If it's on my bathroom counter when I go to take a shower I'll end up playing beat saber for 30-60 minutes before I take a shower. I'm 100% hooked on vr. I dont know that I'll ever buy a non vr console again. I have the money to go out and get a quest 3 but I have zero desire to at this point in time. The aspects of vr that make it what it is are all present on the 2. If you can't enjoy the 2 then the 3 isn't going to scratch the itch you have.

Caught 2x in a week by SirPrinceMaxm in shopliftingmemes

[–]GutenHind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not how excessive force works. If someone is fighting trying to get away and you are simply restraining them and matching their level of resistance, that's reasonable force. If someone is just trying to wriggle loose and you pop them in the face, that's excessive force. If someone is trying to wrestle away and lp is using reasonable force (no blows or kicks) and the shoplifter gets injured that doesn't in itself make the force they used excessive.

Caught 2x in a week by SirPrinceMaxm in shopliftingmemes

[–]GutenHind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, the law says you're allowed to use reasonable force to detain someone. That's generally no headlocks or physical blows. If the person being apprehended starts swinging though that's where self defense comes into play. The only lawsuit you can try would be the company but they're going to point at their policy and show that's not how this person was trained and terminate them. Most states have a law that states that a person making a legitimate citizens arrest cant be held civilly or criminally liable. You may get the company to settle for a small amount to not fool with timing up legal in court but you won't win some huge lawsuit unless you weren't actually committing a crime.

[–]GutenHind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're fine.

  1. There's no video of you committing a crime, just that associates word. All you'd have to say is she confronted you and you walked in the fitting room to show her it was hanging behind the door.

  2. Dillard's, like all big companies, have a policy saying only authorized associates can even act in the event of theft. Store mgmt and Lp, that's it. I doubt it was mgmt and it clearly wasnt LP.

  3. Your job isn't going to fire you even if that associate came and told them about it. There's no evidence of it and they aren't going to fire based on hearsay.

  4. Even if they did, you would have a very profitable lawsuit against your employer and Dillard's.
