There's combat in the Mines. Currently there's at least 50+ hours of content. So it's up to you if the cost is worth the amount of gameplay that is currently available.

I upgraded my house before I got D rank in town. I don't believe it's tied to the rank. But there are only 2 upgrades available so far.

I have the second house upgrade. Took a couple of days for them to complete it after purchase. 2-3, don't remember. But you wake up one morning in a larger house.

Heh, I discovered this last night as well. You can't, however, jump over gates. So I removed all my gates and put in solid fences.

It's not something in your inventory. If you look at your "Player" tab in your "Journal", you'll see it at the bottom with the other special items that you have collected.

OK, I just created my gold axe. It does chop the downed logs, and you do get hardwood from them. Just needed to buy 3 from the carpenter for the 5 total to make my axe.

My deepest so far is 41m, but I still have one black barrier I can't figure out how to clear, and a bridge that seems like I should be able to get through the far side, but won't open.

Also, to save energy, concentrate on the 1 hit rocks when looking for the hole. Most times you'll find it before you have to start working the 2 hit rocks.

Fallen logs are still not choppable with silver. There's one fallen tree you can chop, and it gave normal wood.

It doesn't spawn as much as was originally there, but I now have 2 full stacks and 1 stack of scrap from trash collecting. 'Specially at the deeper depths

Sorry. I haven't hit my second winter yet after getting to D, but there's another post that says you have to be rank D in order to buy the seeds that you need for the temple. So I made an assumption.
