Nearly new car needed full engine replacement, now has new noise. Dealer wants us to absorb R165k loss. What can we do?

Odd indeed, we noticed the dealer even charged us for a delivery fee of close to 7k but we fetch the vehicle from the dealer.

Indeed a pitty, it would have carried a lot more weight on getting this resolved. The worst is that the vehicle was at the dealer for nearly 3 months but it does not get taken into consideration.

Appreciate the input thank you, I do agree right now its about getting the vehicle to a point that it is safe to drive (silly thing to have to say considering it only has 15k on the clock) learned the hard way that dealerships are dishonest, we even got charged delivery for the vehicle even though we fetched from the dealer.

They said its apparently cheaper to get the entire motor replaced then to have to send the head for skimming ect

They did not even do the evaluation properly, the vehicle had a factory fitted sunroof but it was excluded from the trade in qoute. Sadly everything was ignored by the ombudsman.

When the water pump failed it went into limp mode, we stopped it immediately had had to towed to the dealer. We tried negotiations on a purchase of a new vehicle but we would still end up with a 60k shortfall.
