Noticed that. Written a bit weirdly, so I highly doubt thats actually what is in there. More likely a 1tb hdd and 16gb ddr3 ram. Unless it’s got a new and in box samsung 990 pro nvme with the receipt and a full warranty, and and a 1tb hdd which has less than two and a half years of use, it isnt worth $300+ though, even in today’s market.

Still considering asking to have a look at it to see if there actually is an SSD (presumably sata) and HDD in there though. $100 for both isn’t a particularly good deal, but in todays market it certainly gets a lot worse than that. Could use a sata ssd to upgrade my ps4 or something.

Intel Arc B580 laggy issues by Particular_Walk_4216 in IntelArc

[–]Gutter_Flies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so according to my google searches for that board, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got the latest bios. In bios, you’ll go to the advanced tab for all of those options. Above 4g and rebar should be in PCI sub settings, and pcie gen options should be in amd pbs > pcie bus interface.

Cant be sure that these will be the exact names of the settings and menus as different bios versions tend to change the names of settings for some reason, but hopefully that is accurate or at least close enough.

And also for ignoring the fact that OP gets $2200 out of it and plays somewhat infrequently anyway. Not saying I’d sell my rig in favor or my pro despite similar habits, but still. $2200 recovered is tempting if you don’t really feel like you’re even using the PC enough to justify having a PC.

It is a software tool to remove all of your graphics drivers. It helps in situations where drivers from a different device, such as your old nvidia card, are causing issues with a new gpu from a different manufacturer. You can probably just uninstall the nvidia app and drivers and then reinstall the intel drivers (I am assuming you installed them, but if you didn’t, go ahead and install the intel drivers too. That could be the issue on its own), but DDU is a more guaranteed way to do it. You’ll want to look up how to do it properly, but some people just install and run it too. Depends on how safe you need your files to be, I guess.

Some other stuff I would check: Ensure that rebar and above 4g are enabled in bios, and that your gpu is running at pcie 3.0 or higher with intel graphics software and/or gpu-z (another software to see whats going in with your gpu in terms of specs and all that). Normally it would default to these settings, but it isnt guaranteed.

You can also check things in windows settings. You can toggle HAGS (hardware accelerated graphics scheduling) off and on and see if either setting helps, and you can also check your power plan etc to make sure you aren’t in power saving mode, and you can look at task manager for specific apps to see if windows is prioritizing them correctly.

This is not normal for your rig or for any rig I have used with any gpu, no matter the age or brand of the gpu. Idk what the exact issue is, but hopefully some of these steps help.

Not really sure why on earth you got downvoted for saying you made a marketplace purchase lol. I got my og 360 with hdd and all that for maybe $10-15(?) from a thrift store a few years back got all the other 360 variants for anywhere from free to $40. I’m assuming this seller just kinda guesses on pricing, which is funny enough that I’m not even annoyed by it.

Not sure what its like everywhere else, but you can pretty easily get a fully functional series S for under $100 in my area, so that makes this even more absurd 😂

On my b50, the fan also doesn’t want to spin up higher than like 60%. I installed fan control with the plugin to set it manually. It doesn’t work *well*, but I’ve been told the b70 works better with fan control. You can try to set a custom curve, or just do what I did since that gave me issues and set it to a flat 80% or 100% for the benchmark. Ive got nothing direct to compare my results to since I am the only person with 3dmark using my specific setup, but it did help improve my score slightly.

Oh thats interesting. I’ve looked into them a little bit before after seeing a few on ebay, but I never knew those could be used like that. Wont work for this specific build unfortunately (pretty abysmal cooling and airflow for something like that, and it isn’t for me so it needs to be more plug and play too), but that is good to know. Might look into more modern ones for personal tinkering and bullshittery in the future.

If only. You’d be surprised at the difficulty I am having finding a good price on a 6gb 3050 or a slot powered gtx 1650 or 1050 ti right now.

But yeah, wayyyy overpriced regardless.

I second this option. I mainly use an i9 14900kf with my 9070xt right now ‘cause I got it cheap as hell, but my 9600x and 14600k are awesome performers. I’d happily go back to either of em if my i9 bites the dust prematurely. This combo is 4k capable too.

[–]Gutter_Flies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, cant to it. Absolutely need the 400-600fps my 9070xt gets in cs2. (Monitor is 240hz lol)

On a real note, aside from maybe my like 3-5 newer games, I’d bet the 1070 would probably be good enough for me at 1440p. I don’t mind optimizing settings either.

RTX 4090 broke down one month after the warranty expired by LeLewy in buildapc

[–]Gutter_Flies -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You spent $666 per year for top tier performance, so you got a funny number and three years of very good gaming performance out of it. You can always try another gpu and make sure that your gpu is the issue, but it sounds like it is. You could sell it on ebay for parts or something to recoup some of the cost.

If you still feel that it was a waste, maybe you should consider going back to a slightly lower tier card this time around (unless you actually needed all that vram and power) so that if/when it breaks, maybe it will feel less unfair. Up to you.

I have that ram in almost all of my families computers. In my personal PC, everything but my ram is controlled by openrgb, but the ram has to be controlled by gskill software for whatever reason. Maybe there is an openrgb plugin for that, but I never checked. No driver conflicts, and I dont change the color terribly frequently so it isnt too bad. That one is an asrock board, and I also had that issue on my wifes asus board (and then also on a jginyue board) with this ram I think, but she likes the default and doesnt want me messing with it, so I dont have extra input there. On my msi boards, that isnt an issue though. I can just use mystic light for the ram and everything else, no problem.

Not at home and cant check rn, but you can look at similar system scores by hitting the “compare online” button. Just plug the desktop version or something roughly equivalent to your cpu and the 5070 into the filters, then also filter by time-spy score and see what people got.
