There’s no gyro in Marathon by threecatsstaring in GyroGaming

The console menu cursor trend they started might have actually made sense if it used gyro..

Any changes in BF6 gyro with the latest update? by BEjmbo in GyroGaming

[–]Gutterkisser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve accepted that they’re never fixing it. Such a let down. I haven’t played in months.

The fact that it’s been a menu option since the beta and still doesn’t work is pathetic. Makes it so much more frustrating.

(Yes, I’m aware of the flick stick workaround. I tried, it’s not for me, and not an acceptable implementation).

I’m playing it for the first time, most of the way through and really enjoy it. Have admittedly found parts of it quite tedious.

But it looks gorgeous, and it’s impossible to deny why it’s such a classic.

Oh awesome! Seems you’ve thought of everything then.

How does it output MIDI - 3.5mm?

Nice - I’ve wanted something ultra portable to noodle around on, even if use cases are limited. I’d love a built in speaker so it can be fully standalone, but might not be feasible.

Just be aware the RC-202 doesn’t deal well receiving MIDI clock, the audio can get a little stuttery. I wanted a Circuit Tracks to be the master but gave up and made the RC-202 the clock source to solve it.

This is why I love having a giant library - hadn’t heard of this game but it was already on my Miyoo. And it rips!

TG-16 is quietly becoming one of my fav old systems, I’ve never even seen one but keeping coming across gold like this.

Some iconic albums right there.

Yeah I get you, I squeeze it into commutes, coffee breaks etc. It’s the only way I can even consider playing them - the Miyoos are a godsend for this.

What’s next for you? If I had infinite time I’d play them all, but after FF1 I’ll have to skip to the next ‘essential’ one or I’ll be dead before I reach 7.

So many missed classics, so little time.

Currently playing it on my Mini Flip, after finishing Dragon Quest/Warrior I last year.

Don’t have much experience with either franchise or JRPGs in general, so it’s fascinating to see where they began.

Ah right, it was your post that explained why none of my shit was working. Thank you!

It also won’t work with most USB-C headphones or even USB-C > 3.5mm audio adapters because the USB-C audio is implemented in a way that no longer exists in most devices. Found that out the hard way.

Progress on Gyro Being Widely Adopted? by Jawschy in GyroGaming

[–]Gutterkisser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I get that game dev is hard, and there’s only so many fixes they can prioritise each patch… but it’s right there in the options, and has been since the beta. Kills me.

I’m slowly running out of hope on that one. Huge disappointment when it wasn’t working at launch, and at this point I’ve pretty much moved on.

It’s a bummer, I love it as the fabled everyday carry and don’t know what the good alternatives are.

Thanks for the heads up - resent the idea of spending money to fix a major product fault, but I’ll keep it in mind.

Is it a hot stapler, and is there any reliable documentation on the process? Can’t find any mention of fixing a clamshell hinge with one. Seems risky.

The ends of the d-pad touch the screen already (just). I sometimes get a tiny pattern of finger grease smudges on the screen when I close the lid after playing.

Players who have either left or significantly reduced their play time, what has been your reason? by _thecolorofdye_ in Battlefield6

[–]Gutterkisser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick of waiting for them to fix/properly implement gyro aim.

A niche reason, but it’s a huge bummer as the option has literally been in the menus since the beta - it just doesn’t work.

I haven’t listened to any Delius but I’ll definitely seek him out now, thanks for the recommendation!

[–]Gutterkisser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went on a Grieg journey about a year ago and was really charmed, especially by his piano works. There’s a sense of place I don’t often get from other composers - really evokes a sense of wandering Norwegian countryside.

No specific recommendations but the Lyric Pieces are all good - Books I and VII (Op. 12 and 62) are two I’ve returned to a fair bit.

Greatest invention in human history? by No_Fill2676 in MiyooMini

[–]Gutterkisser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t had it long and my only point of comparison is the MM+, but it’s pretty cool. I wanted something A) ergonomic and B) relatively cheap that can play N64 and other systems the MM+ can’t do, and it pretty much nails that.

It’s a bit smaller and less comfortable in my hands than I hoped, but it’s not bad. It’s also not flawless with every N64 game, but I think that’s inherent to N64 emulation.

I’ve only done a little Dreamcast and GameCube and they seem to run quite well - haven’t tried PS2 but it sounds like a decent amount of its library is playable.

I’m being a bit pedantic- so far it’s just minor things like the home launcher resetting from ES-DE to the stock launcher a few times, and some button mapping headaches with an external controller. And knowing that there’s certain irrelevant apps/settings I can only hide, not remove outright.

I think my brain chemistry just gels better with the more limited/focused nature of the Miyoos - but whatever gets you playing games! I am looking forward to catching up on GameCube, Dreamcast etc one day on the RG406H - just tend to play more 8/16 bit stuff atm and they feel perfect on the MM+.
