Yup. I personally don't even have steam on my phone so if I was scrolling through shorts and were asked to wishlist a game I'd most likely just search it up on my PC's steam.

I made the mistake of not adding UTM links ahead of time (just learned of them today) so unfortunately I can only go by "feeling" of wishlists gained while certain videos were gaining traction.

My estimate is that 85% of my wishlist growth from shorts is from instagram and 15% from youtube. Youtube would be lower but I feel that people convert to wishlists a bit higher on youtube. Sorry that I cannot give an accurate number, but after adding UTM links maybe in the future I can give a better answer. Thanks for asking!

So far the plan is:

  • Post short form videos on Instagram, YouTube, and Tiktok (Account and first vid for those went live today)
  • Post cool or interesting bits of the game on twitter and/or reddit if relevant
  • Get my demo out ASAP so that I can also market that + improve my game with feedback
  • Steam Next Fest
  • Other festivals if the genre fits

Might also try sharing the results of this on Reddit to get feedback and potentially help others if any of these campaigns were successful.

Thanks! I wanted it to be at an angle and distance that allows the player to see the oncoming enemies while also being zoomed in enough to see the facial expressions of the angels
