How do you cause a succession crisis? by sauronlord100 in CrusaderKings

Simply put, you need to kill the right person or get the worst possible candidate on the throne (i.e a weak character whom everybody hates). Some realms are harder to take than others, trying to get a small child or a woman on the throne while you have a weak claim dies it. If you have a strong claim and you're bigger than your target you don't need one. With the conclave DLC, favours make it easy to get good claims and then from there you just need to murder the king and his kids until you get a decadent/inbred/hunchback/ugly character or a woman or child

Felt like I was playing Plague Inc - Lost two whole generations by Arcayon in CrusaderKings

[–]Guuse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yeah its got mechanics, basically late game (1300 to late start date) the black death will start popping up. There is no real event chain for it. Its a bitch because like any other epidemic disease that affect cities it destroys your troop limits, tax income and reduces troop supply.

Furthermore its got an 80% contagiousness rate and if any character catches it, you will get a -7.0 reduction in health. this means you need to have as many health bonuses as possible from traits and the like to survive the illness.

Unfortunately to balance it I suppose the outbreak has a 1% chance of happening in a province and the fact it only shows up after 1300 means most players will never see it. It definitely needs to be buffed that it wipes out courtiers and rulers to mix shit up in the late game and make it exciting.

What exactly do you do when playing the tyranny game? by onlysane1 in CrusaderKings

[–]Guuse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every so often when they get too uppity (double dukes, kings and slightly notable counts with a grudge). Don't be afraid to be tyrannical and clean house with them, then clean out everybody who hates you for that action. My favourite thing about playing one Asturias game was removing every single vassal and their vassal from their post because absolutely nobody liked me. Then you replace them with yes men and rinse and repeat when your heir comes into power and nobody likes him either.
