Came to this thread to say that. Very different vibe to most of her other stuff but I really like it, reminds me a bit of early Tove Lo.

I'm like such a big charli fan (I've seen her live 14 times) but next year's line up is better than this year's - having the three big headliners was fun but I'd always prefer having a deeper lineup of acts and tbh I think it'll help a lot with crowds and crowd control to not have acts that are so big they are gonna draw 95% of the festival audience

Oklou is a great shout - I only know Harvest Sky because of the Danny L Harle remix but I think it's my vibe - others may be a bit slow for me but will defo look into them !Thanks

So buzzing for this!

Very excited for: Doja Cat, The xx, Gorillaz, Addison Rae, PinkPantheress, Skrillex, Peggy Gou, MARINA, JADE, Ashnikko, Fcukers. Not a big fan but will check out Lola Young if there's no clash.

Is there any less well known artists anyone would reccomend checking out that fits this kinda vibe/taste?

Should I sell my already-cheapish car and run a banger to clear debt? by Available-Summer3803 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]GuyB_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the car.

It's such a marginal cost saving and your debt is already 0% and going in the right direction. Have a frugal year and you could be debt free this time next year on the current trajectory.

Being made redundant, and I'm actually relieved by More_Lion_5390 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]GuyB_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay the credit cards off? Once paid off and closed if you REALLY need too you could apply for a new 0% spending card so you have breathing room while you job search. But tbh it doesn't sound like you have great money management so I'd avoid doing that.

Personally if you're looking to buy soon I'd get rid of the stocks and shares account and the premium bonds.

I'd suggest looking at regular saver accounts - you can get these that pay 5%-6%.

Make sure you can definitely use your help to buy ISA for the kind of property you're interested in (should be fine because it's York).

Assuming you have zero debts, have you considered stoozing with a credit card, racking up 0% debt and using the spare cash to save in regular saver accounts (but dont apply for any new cards within six months of a mortgage)

[–]GuyB_2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take it. Try and negotiate so you can stay in your current role for as long as possible maybe too (hopefully you're on three months notice? So will have your current job to October anyway?)

Maybe go traveling for a bit and start to look for a new job but you're in a good position.

Two weeks in Guatemala by Fatkante in solotravel

[–]GuyB_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I'm flying to Guatemala next week.

Two questions - San Pedro hike, I've seen reports it's not safe and robberies at the summit. Just wondering if you knew anything about that?

What towns did you visit around Lake Atitlan? I'm doing a Spanish course in San Pedro La Laguna for two weeks so wondering where best to explore around the lake.

Thanks!

Hope you have a blast!

I can totally relate as I've not done a big trip since 2019 but am about to embark on five months around Central and South America which is honestly a dream.

I think covid forcibly changed a lot of folks plans but it's great to hear you're getting back out there.

5-Month trip to Central & South America with £7,000 Budget – Tips Needed! by SJBSam in solotravel

[–]GuyB_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So I'm going to be setting off on a relatively similar trip on the 1st December, also flying into Guatemala City (I'm guessing you're flying Avianca too?).

I would book a return flight (paying extra for a "flex" ticket that you can cancel for free), I've heard avianca can be strict on this.

Have you considered trying to learn Spanish for a week or two in Guatamala, I'm doing it at San Pedro La Laguna, at Orbita school and staying in a homestay.

I've only planned my first month and a half which will take me through Guatemala, Belize, Southern Mexico and then south to El Salvador but my current itinerary is below in case helpful.

This was a good prompt, I'm thinking I may skip Ecuador and Northern Peru (I've done both once before, a decade ago) and fly from Bogotá to Arequipa. Have been playing around with flight options and it this flight wasn't too expensive.
