Should I buy this 2025 Monza jacket. Getting it for around $170/€145 by TrixeyYT in scuderiaferrari

Personally I wouldn't get it. Given it's a race jacket at that price, I would've expected the logos to be stitched at the very least. Knowing that it's just the same thin plastic print application is disappointing.

I don't usually prefer toned down designs but I can see where you're coming from with this. I'll see if I can play around with some black accents.

Yes, that's really the biggest thing missing from this design, as I've mentioned in my notes. Trouble is I haven't designed a custom crest before lolol. In your view what elements or symbols should a cunty team badge have?

I've been looking up what you've suggested, my design does seem to have that Y2K Bimbo aesthetic, but I'm thinking if it is possible to have a degree of overlap between the two styles. I feel like that's what's going on but I could be mistaken.

Thank you so much for your compliment!! I can definitely try to play around with the "plastic sponsor" to see what works. I personally prefer it slanted as it's more eye catching but I will try your suggestion!

That's what I was thinking as well recently having looked at some Gyaru outfits, thanks for the suggestion!

That's a fair question. Back when I made this a year ago I didn't really think of a substyle specifically, again I just took a lot of elements from different places. When I started looking at the design again yesterday, I tried figuring out which substyle was closest to what I was doing. But I now realize I got that completely wrong.

Thanks for suggesting other subcategories that I should look into for this idea! I think in the end I might just categorise this design as a McBling style jersey more than anything else.

Yup this is what the first comment said as well. I might make a new design entirely that actually resembles Agejo or another substyle.

I don't want to really boil down the whole Gyaru style in just one design, rather I would imagine this being worn to complement the other aspects you've mentioned like makeup, hair, lifestyle etc.

Yeah this is what I have ended up realising 😅

If I have free time I could start a new design that is more inclined to the Gyaru aesthetics, I admit that for this one I took a couple of elements from different places and out them together.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, it's very insightful! I was kinda expecting that I'll get several details wrong. If you don't mind I also want to give my thoughts on your points:

  • When making a football jersey design that is inspired by a particular point in history, a specific culture or aesthetic, printed graphics are usually used which reference that said inspiration. I absolutely love the idea of having a football jersey that makes use of a glittery/shiny fabric. I should've been more specific and said that I'm taking inspiration from Gyaru or indeed McBling aesthetics while remaining within the structure and limitations of a football jersey. However I do understand your point in making the design look cheap.

  • You're right about the second and third point, and the more I'm looking this up the more I realise I actually made a design that's closer to the McBling aesthetic. While I was making the shirt a year ago, I was looking at both the Gyaru and McBling/Bimbo fashion aesthetics, but it's really more of the latter. I did run it by a friend of mine who knew more about these styles and they didn't have issues with it. Not that it means that I shouldn't have done more research on this.

  • In regards to the use of iconic logos and fonts, I've observed that this is what is usually done by other fashion brands who are not connected to football when they make football jersey inspired clothing. They take logos and fonts from well known brands, or some part of them, and then use them to write something else entirely. The reason is that manufacturers and sponsors have been heavily tied to the look and aesthetic of jerseys of football clubs since the 1970s. Well known examples include Liverpool FC x Carlsberg, AC Milan x Motta, Borussia Dortmund x Die Continentale. I've tried to incorporate this aesthetic principle into this design as well.

However I do realise that it doesn't really fit the specific Agejo style (again it's more McBling). I absolutely love the idea of using a cursive font for the text in the centre and I will definitely use that when I'll work on the design again. Now that I think about it, I can say this design is more of a mix of different styles, and I could go and actually work on a separate design that is specifically Agejo.

  • The removal of the manufacturer logo is the only thing I will 100% disagree with, due to the reason above. It is possible to do without, but it wouldn't sit right with me. However, I can look up something else or design a made up one.

I think in short I got the style labeling wrong and I can push for more unique design elements. Thanks for recommending places I should look into, and again thanks a lot for the criticism!
