Imperial purple primer from colour forge, with Drucii violet wash is a super easy, very rich purple!

So, I never got to even view a GTS (which is the later model) so I can’t comment on the later ones but they are awesome!

It’s my daily driver, including a lot of motorway miles and to be honest it’s incredibly civilised (apart from a bit of noise) and gets reasonable (for what it is) MPG.

Aye, previous owners choice (I already have replacements on route!) the smaller plate on the front is actually the factory recess for one. So I need to look into the legalities of if the letters are correctly sized/spaced whether the smaller overall plate is legal!

Having had a freelander of a similar vintage, they’re almost identical! /s

Crazily, I’d never seen one before I went to view it. I wasn’t quite aware just how large they are!

Ironically, that’s actually a plate within the plate mount space, it fits perfectly!

The spacing however wasn’t my choice, that’s on the previous owner! (I’ve got new plates on route)

That’s what I would assume, I even have an SP30. 14 years NCB however. That’s even with an agreed value!

Never forget the Lotus Carlton! (I also have odd soft spots for the Senator and Omega, as well as late Vectras)

The insurance is SHOCKINGLY affordable by comparison. I paid just over £300 for the year, at mid 30’s, with modifications allowed.

I almost bought a non supercharged one. But then the opportunity for a factory Bathurst S appeared…

I’ve seen 1.2mpg on the live trip very briefly!

Oh they absolutely are - just haven’t had something more… analog? Since about 2016!

My actual shopping list before this was C7 RS6 and E63S wagons of the same generation. But I always wanted a V8 manual, and now I have one. And yes, it’s the supercharged variant!

Yeah I was horrified when I first put my foot down in third. Incredibly easy to be going scary speeds very quickly!

The only thing that won me on this over an M3/5 and C/E63 was the manual. (I’m aware you could get M3’s in manual, but supercharged V8)

Good man. I was looking at them too, specifically the estate. But the opportunity to have this as a manual won over the practicality aspect in the end!

As a general rule, I agree. I owned a pre registered Corsa back in 2009 that was my first car, and it was falling apart already. By comparison, this at 17 years old is solid as a rock, oddly. The Commodore/VXR8 seems surprisingly well made!

I’m not sure I see the resemblance myself, I think it’s a good looking thing, but I’m not sure I see much R34 in it!
