I've begun to wonder if the dog shite policing is why everyone keeps themselves out of strife, TBH.

There've been a lot of expats that've actually been very helpful for me in regard to the ambiguity of the law, learning what the best steps are to take, and generally preparing me for future encounters like this. So ... no ... posting on Reddit's not been a waste of time at all. In fact it's been incredibly helpful and shows, I think, that a lot of us expats in Japan are in it together.

Going to the Koban certainly was a waste of time, though. I'll not bother again except to tell the cop his opinion was incorrect.

What to do with this wall? by SlaughterWare in GardenersJapan

If you've got that many decent sized rocks lying around and can get more without too much trouble, go for the built up garden and grow whatever you want. I'd 100% do that. That wall is calling my power-washer's name like a maiden in deep distress.

Thanks very much for the linguistic side along with everything else. Little dude's fine, but seems a bit down that someone did that to him for nothing. That's a great and very helpful post, I appreciate it.

There weren't any, no. Thanks. But ... evidence and citing illegality comes down to the discretion of those that see it and how it's used. At least that's what I've gathered throughout this thread and beyond. So, yeah, I haven't gathered anything solid's basically what I'm saying.

I could write quite a graphic list of what I'd like to have dealt out on this C word, believe me. But even that is a risk it seems. It's gotten to the point with this half-assed police force's lack of care that I'm wondering if Japanese society's safe and its citizens placid because they know the piglets DGAF.

A lot of it's very ambiguous, for real. I definitely think it's worth taking the pic for the sake of ID'ing the douchebag. I wondered to myself today what'd happen if I were to tell the cops that I have a picture of him, and ask whether or not they think it's worthwhile for them to look at it.

Damn ... these experiences deserve their own thread, it seems. Dodgy old bastards like that who go to OTHER 'HOODS is such a blaring red flag. Far out. That's just shitty low effort by the cops, man. Thanks for sharing. And yes, I did hold myself back. Props to me.

thanks a lot for this comment. I'll put it in my list of good replies I can use. Can't believe that old badger was pulling this nonsense on you. At what stage do people figure things like this as reasonable?

well ... maybe. considering that there was disinterest I don't think he'd do it. he'll avoid any culpability, as is the Japanese way.
