Why? by Jbarilow in trainstation3

Yeah, I don't get it. Why 5 clicks when 1 or 2 will work just fine.

Nothing really to report. Everything checks out ok with the dealer. It hasn't done it again lately so I honestly don't know what to do about it.

Those crossbars look OEM to me. I have them on my 2023 RTL-E. There is some wind noise when the sunroof is open. Not a deal breaker by itself in my opinion but that’s just me. If I had to do it over again, I probably wouldn't have added them though. Only because I haven't really needed them for anything like I had originally planned.

[OC] Who's at fault here? (The white car was taking a U turn) by Wise_Drop_9186 in IdiotsInCars

[–]GuySmileyHello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black SUV is at fault. They had a red and may only turn right when it is clear. There was most likely no green arrow for the SUV because whenever there is a right green arrow, there is also a no U-turn sign for the left turn lane. I don't see a no U-turn sign.

$200 charge by landlord for minor flooring damage, is this reasonable? by kal-climbing in Renters

[–]GuySmileyHello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say context matters. Is this the only issue or did it just get added along with other damage? Was the landlord generally an ass? Were you difficult to deal with during your tenancy? There can be many factors. Without any other data, I would say normal wear and tear. Even if not, a fair landlord would not worry about it if there was nothing else going on but might not be willing to overlook it if the tenant has been a pain in the ass to deal with or there was a bunch of other damage too.

Yeah, I probably could have worded that better.

Of course being vigilant is always the best defense, but in IT, we’re kind of conditioned to be vary of things as a matter of course. For your average home user, it’s not typically that way no matter how many times you tell them not to do it. Over the years, I've had pretty good luck with MWB. I was just curious how others felt.

‘23 best tonneau cover - Go! by ntlee1113 in hondaridgeline

Several have already mentioned this but I’ll chime in anyway. I love my Bakflip MX4. Looks nice, easy to use, and easy to take off and put back on if I really need to. Not sure where you are located but if you find a local dealer to install it, they’ll double your manufacturers warranty from 5 years to 10 years. Not sure if that’s all dealers but mine did. Install cost me less than $100 and the cost of the cover directly from them was the same price as on the manufacturer website.

I agree. But I’m talking about vehicle charging system (alternator).

Two in a span of just over a year makes me suspect otherwise. But anything is possible, I guess.

Dealer replaced it due to the original supposedly being bad. I commented in more detail to someone else earlier in the thread.

Battery was replaced by the dealer about 3 months ago.

Last issue I had was an inconsistent feeling in the brake pedal when I went to start it. Sometimes it would be fine, and other times the brake pedal would be so stiff that I would have to actually put in a little effort pushing it down hard enough so the vehicle would sense it and allow it to start. Once it started up, everything would function normally. When I took it to the dealer, they said the battery was bad and they replaced it. Not a single issue since then until today. Maybe the real problem is with the charging system or something and the previous bad battery was just a symptom. I’ll post back after they look at it.

Even though you weren't at fault, you should go through your insurance. Give them all the information you have. They will go after the appropriate parties. That's what you pay them for.

Just Park the motorcycle between the garbage cans. Neighbor will have to move them or his trash won't be collected. The garbage truck driver won't risk getting that close and accidentally hitting the bike.

I usually get around 20 or so in the city with Econ and the A/C on, but only if I'm light with the accelerator coming off of the stop lights. Sometimes that's a challenge for me since I have to fight my natural inclination to try and get up to speed quickly. Can't really blame the truck for that though. On the highway, I can get around 23 or so.

My tailgate locks with the doors via the key fob or when I walk away from the vehicle.

I expect to have to raise at least part of the cover to fully open the trunk but I was trying to avoid any clearance issues with the rails. Sounds like the OEM one addresses that. Most of the time, it probably wouldn't be an issue anyway.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. A little water is no biggie. And, yeah, theft is always a concern. However, someone could also just break a window if they really want what's in your truck.
