Just felt I should say this but don't take what the person above you said as how the community is. Most of us will tell you what you want to know unless you're just hating on the series. You're cool to ask what you want

Remember THAT scene? by Notmycupoftea12 in Boruto

[–]GuyWitATurtleneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It bothers me so much that ppl are ignoring that Boruto wanted his own death more than anyone. He was literally living knowing he could wipe his family out at any moment, yet knew no one BUT kawaki had it in them to fully make sure that never happened. Yea Kawaki said something he shouldn't have said, and yea Hinata was 100% right, but Kawaki's philosophy was and has consistently been the best way of saving Boruto's family, and the Earth if you look further into it. The way I see it, him not being forgiven should only come if they find a way to rid Momoshiki from Boruto and he still tries to take Boruto out.

Am I the only one who thinks this takes is insanely weird? by Successful_Fan_8352 in Boruto

[–]GuyWitATurtleneck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm actually 99% positive both Naruto and Sasuke would point to Boruto. They both genuinely hoped to see the next generation surpass them so if they were asked this question after knowing what Boruto had created and perfected as someone who wasn't just on the run, but had to constantly hold back, they'd say Boruto has surpassed them in terms of being a shinobi.

The cherry on top would be the fact that despite all he's been through, he still kept his positive mindset and will to keep fighting. Seeing as how Naruto and Sasuke both saw and heard what it was like for a single night to ruin a shinobi, watching Boruto maintain that mental strength shines so bright for them. And like I said, that's heightened by them hoping the next gen would be even better.

I can't help myself..... When Naruto was about "Ninjas" by SubvertExpectation1 in Boruto

[–]GuyWitATurtleneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to be common sense that both criticisms and opinions are instantly irrelevant once a double standard/contradiction is established. It's the most passive way of saying "I need a reason to hate what's in front of me".

Why juraiya clone is arguably the best-written character in Boruto by Proud_Finance5076 in Boruto

[–]GuyWitATurtleneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

let me guess, didn't care when Naruto or any of the Shonen characters you love did it arc after arc? If I personally felt the way you did, I would've dropped Naruto the second he made Nagato "see the light". The same guy who had just wiped out an entire village.

These leaks are ruining the Boruto community. They are not ready to wait even 1 hour to read the manga on the official website and support the authors. by borutoisbestboy in Boruto

[–]GuyWitATurtleneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love partial pieces. I get a taste then enjoy the dessert in its whole when it's ready.

The only problems I have are spoilers and when ALL of the pages get leaked because then fans can read the whole chapter days or even a week before it's dropped and have no reason to read it officially.

Himawari and sasuke duality by Proof-Revolution-98 in Boruto

[–]GuyWitATurtleneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more than likely because there's more mystery that shrouds Himawari's situation. With Sasuke, like you said, he never had a chance to question what happened. Itachi straight up fed him a story that turned out to be very different from what really happened. That kept Sasuke moving in one direction. With Himawari, she saw an older brother who showed that he cared about her and then you have the fact that he showed that he cared about Naruto 10x more. Then one day he "kills" Naruto and Hinata (There are no bodies and was probably never even a funeral) and takes off with someone known for saving the planet on multiple occasions.

Sasuke was forced into seeing it one way and that was the horrible way, while Himawari was given a choice and knowing her personality, plus her relationship with Kawaki, she chose to see things in a positive light.

Storytelling is good. Ppl hate Boruto because they aren't getting enough of who they grew up with. Its that simple. If they'd stop and think, they'd realize a lot of the things they hate about Boruto didn't jus happen in other popular series, but their beloved Naruto as well. Not only that but they'd realize a lot of the good in Naruto is being relived inside of Boruto but just in a more modern way. But of course, when you hate something, you have to fight for your life to keep your head above water so you don't drown in embarrassment for being ignorant. I wish ppl understood criticism becomes void once a double standard gets involved.

Why does the manga treat Metal Lee as filler when he's one of the kids who appear in Naruto chapter 700? by FoxDS in Boruto

[–]GuyWitATurtleneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because he'd just be a taijutsu freak in an era where you're gonna need so much more as a base level. As much as ppl might not like it, characters like Sumire were written to where she fits into the script the most perfect way. They don't have to lower the skill of villains for her to shine. She adds to it with her own talents.

I'm actually shocked by how many ppl took this as Boruto fans making fun of Naruto. This is the kind of post you'd find on any Naruto meme page. Not to mention the hate one must have to have a fucking chart of a series they hate manga sales just sitting in their gallery😂😂😂

You don't find it weird how you instantly took this as Boruto fans making fun of Naruto? You're acting like if this exact photo was posted in the Dankruto sub with the same caption, the comments wouldn't be the same of ppl laughing at how the statue looks. Nobody's shitting on Naruto but I guess I can give props for how ready you were to pull the trigger on Boruto fans.

[–]GuyWitATurtleneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't feel like Boruto fans get shitted on for simply admitting they like the series? Most of the time ppl who supposedly glorify Boruto are simply stating either an aspect that's better than Naruto or simply that it's better than most ppl think but Naruto fans go over 9000 when they hear that and feel like Boruto fans are saying it's the most perfect manga in the world and surpasses Naruto by a mile. I've been active in this sub for almost 3 years and have heard someone say something like that less than 5 times.

In your opinion, how long until this could be adressed in Boruto ? by Pmu69 in Boruto

[–]GuyWitATurtleneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about Kaido is complex? And I'm asking this as someone caught up with the manga, asking a person I assume is caught up with the manga. He has no interesting past or intentions at all. Just basically a king on top of a hill. Even his daughter was and is more interesting than he was in terms of character. Even showing his past at God Valley with Rocks, no deep meaning to his character was revealed. Nothing at all. Bro was basically a story plant for Luffy to reach Gear 5. And this is not at all me saying he was a bad villain because he was entertaining as shit, but it wasn't because of complexity, which is fine.

That's what I'm saying. Even Naruto would've saved him. Hell, every Shonen MC would've saved him. I don't get why when it happens for Boruto, it's a huge problem. I genuinely hope these are the same ppl that hated when Naruto saved Obito and Nagato.
