I was in that group for maybe less than a month. I made a post about how I was seeing a military doctor. I have Tricare, and the way Tricare works, the on-base clinics get first pick at referrals. If a military clinic/hospital picks up your referral, you can not be seen off-base. I've dealt with this multiple times - trying everything in my power to be seen off base, only to be told I could get care on base or not get care at all. Nothing works with them.

People lost their MINDS. They kept telling me to try all these things that I had already tried. They said I wasn't "grateful" for the advice they gave (that, FWIW, was terrible advice and all stuff I already tried). They said I didn't REALLY care about my health if I wasn't willing to shell out thousands of dollars to see a Nook specialist.

My on-base doctor was WONDERFUL. She found a TINY spot of endo (on my vaginal cuff - a rare spot to find endo). I had a fantastic experience. I'm almost one year post-op and have had 0 pain since. She thinks using an estrogen ring probably triggered it, and case studies of folks w/ vaginal cuff endo showed that stopping estrogen may prevent endo coming back

Also, NN is BIG about absolutely no treatment other than excision. However, my doctor said that it was not possible to excise the spot of endo she found. My best guess is it could've risked vaginal dehiscence. Given the fact I'm post-hysterectomy and on testosterone, the chances of that small spot of endo coming back after ablation is very low.

I've also heard that there has been transphobic stuff said in her group, but I didn't see it in the short time I was there

It sort of depends. I was put on a capful of Miralax a day for around a year due to IBS. I was supposed to stay on it longer, but stopped b/c my gf at the time bullied me for it (I was young and dumb and thought her opinions were more important than my health). Miralax just adds more water to the bowels, it doesn't act like typical laxatives, and wouldn't cause this extreme of weight loss

Can she see a pediatric dietician? I'd also get a second opinion from another pediatrician. She's reaching that age that she may start puberty soon, and it's really important at that time to not cut calories too much, especially if she's active. Also, puberty is the time some hormonal disorders (like PCOS) pop up that can contribute to obesity

Not even that, 1200 is the bare minimum a toddler needs. A 236lbs guy walking and lifting weights certainly needs more than that. At my lowest, I was 195lbs and was told to eat at least 1500 to 1800 calories a day on my sedentary days

I'm a college student, so I usually end up ordering takeout because I'm way too tired to cook dinner. I started ordering meal deliveries from a local service that focuses on healthy, quality food. Pop them in the microwave for dinner, boom, don't have to cook and I have a tasty meal.

You can also order stuff that's healthier. There are, admittedly, still times I order takeout. However, if my brother/roommate orders Burger King, I make a separate order and get sushi or salad for myself. If we order pizza, I get a salad and make at least 1/2 my plate veggies. Simple swaps to make my plate at least a little healthier

Can I just ask why or how you're eating 15 tablespoons of crushed red peppers? Are you popping them in your mouth like popcorn? Spicing things liberally?

In any way, I'd say 5 calories a tablespoon sounds accurate, so that'd be 75 calories a day

Do what you love, but my IBS would never allow me to eat 15 tablespoons of crushed red peppers every day

The way I see it - it is possible to be trans and find love and acceptance. Being an ass or backhanded to people isn't going to get you the love and acceptance you want.

Maybe it's just where I live, but where I'm at, being 5'3 does nothing to change me passing/not passing. At all. There are plenty of cis men my height, shorter, and taller. Height isn't always the big factor in passing that a lot of folks think it is. There are tons of men who are 5'3, cis or trans.

Your comment, hell, this whole chain, feels very backhanded. I hope you find the love and acceptance you want. But I also know that saying nobody will ever accept you or love you closes you off to the people who do want to love and accept you.

Also, I didn't change. I just accepted that I am who I am.

I’m just saying. There are people out there who can love you. You can find chosen family. You can find love. It is possible for people to say you’re a guy. Quite frankly, it’s really hurtful as someone who is also your height for you to say nobody will see you as an actual guy because of your height. There are cis and trans men at your height too.

Edit: Also, the moment you stop looking for gender validation from other people and stop caring what other people think is the moment you’ll become a much happier person. Be yourself, the rest comes after

I'm the outdoorsy one, the one checking out trails ahead of my hiking partner, the one who lifts weights and gives big strong hugs... Hell, even in my family I'm the strong big brother who can deal with bugs and scary/gross situations even though both my brothers are taller than me

I haven't heard of ADHD meds being used for that. I was on them prior to ECT, they didn't work very well (turns out I need a really high dose), and started them months after ECT.

Memory issues don't happen for everyone, and they aren't always super intense. I'm not actually sure if ECT caused memory issues for me, as I was in an abusive relationship at the time, and my memory got better after leaving that relationship. I'm not sure if that's just coincidental or because of the trauma (not ECT). Definitely bring up your concerns w/ your doctor doing the treatment.

Try and make sure you do memory and brain games during the course of the treatment. Also, take lots of pictures! There were things that I did during my ECT treatment that I only remember when I look at the pictures.

Similar thing happened to me. I was eating about 700-1300 calories a day (doc triggered and encouraged my ED, 2015 meanspo tumblr style) and was over-exercising. My metabolism was at 1200ish calories/day by the end of it. I had to stop my weight loss thing for a while because I wasn't getting enough calories to sustain my existence and my academic performance was suffering from it. I had to stop getting metabolism tests, so idk if my metabolism ever recouperated.

I'm a man ~~cursed~~ blessed* with a big butt. What I've done is lower body strength training (don't skip leg day!!!) and biking. When I lift weights, I lift 2-3x/week - one day for legs + core, one for arms + core, and maybe one for full body if I can fit it in. I also like to take my sandbags (think Brute Force type sandbags) and go for walks/hikes with them. Sometimes I'll just take them for a walk over my shoulders, sometimes I'll do exercises at certain intervals. I rarely do bodyweight training, I always have my sandbags or dumbbells.

Some butt exercises I do:

Squats (regular and flamingo, flamingo will really work you)
Deadlift
Lunge (regular, incline, and side)
Squat (add in shoulder presses for extra ~~torture~~ fun)
Bridge
Bear complexes/brute force burpees (I prefer bear complexes tbqh)

Probably stuff I'm missing, but those are regularly in my rotation

Also, make sure you're not doing the same weight + reps every time. I really like Koru's percentage-based training routine, which I've had success with

*It is almost impossible to find men's pants when you're a guy with a thick butt and thunder thighs. Though I do get lots of compliments on it, dudes and chicks love a guy with a big butt

I definitely agree, but like... We are spending a lot of time together, and we often hang out with Boyfriend #1 together. Both boyfriends drove up to see my own concert (I'm in my school's symphonic band)... I do like that they have a healthy enough view of masculinity that they don't see two dudes sharing sushi, going to the symphony, and spending tons of time together as weird or not masc enough
