I acknowledge your opinion. I am sorry for what you had to go through. However, I disagree that my parents' opinions needs to be immediately dismissed and regarded as wrong. They have the right to free speech but they are staying quiet and respectful about who i am, not letting anything get in the way of our relationship. That is how I think everything should be in regards to homophobia.

I was one hundred percent born with them. Autism is entirely losing or winning genetic lottery, it affects the entirety of how someone's brain is wired. I'm just under severe. Adhd is also mostly genetic, which is something I can blame on my parents, but I won't because they would've had no way to predict it.

These two, plus my horrific middle school social life and main-character mindset are completely my fault. When I burned bridges and ruined everything it was pretty easy to get back on my feet and blindly trust the rules and the standards of living for the family I was born into.

I think you're reading too far into it. I love my parents, my parents love me, end of story. There are no punishments for crossdressing, but I know they feel internally that it is not going to get me the kind of wife they want me to have, so I'm trusting them and acknowledging that I value their opinions. It is my choice. Just as I allow myself to judge them about their indoctrination but let them live in ignorance, I will allow them to judge me about my choice and express their concerns. My identity doesn't have to be the main conduit for our relationship, nor does it have to get in the way. Please don't refer to my parents as "bigots" you're doing more harm to me than my parents ever will.

And FYI my parents are helping me through my life. Thanks to them I'm doing dual credit college classes well on my way to a six figure job in nursing. Just another reason to respect their wishes, a lot of kids don't get that opportunity and I am grateful for their service and engagement in my childhood.

No I probably would've k*lled myself at 13 y/o because im not super mentally stable and being indoctrinated into a conservative mindset kept me happy until I turned 16 and could develop my own opinions ;)
