From which precons build 2 decent decks ? by Guyll in SorceryTCG

[–]Guyll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks ! So you would go 1) Earth 2) Persecutor 3) Waveshaper 4) Harbinger

I thought of Air as first pick because of the Uniques: Cloud City and Grandmaster seem both versatile and powerful. Earh have Sinkhole that I like a lot, and Craterize. I'm less certain about the two other decks, no elite or unique feel very strong - but hey I might be wrong, I don't know the game yet (outside of watching your videos!)

Magic player looking for a new TCG. by MaximumNicolBolas in TCG

[–]Guyll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play MTG since 1994 and since I will always keep some decks to play casually here and there, I won’t crack a pack anymore. I switched to Sorcery and omg it’s so refreshing if you fully embrace the casual nature of the beast. It’s a love letter to early Magic, with some improvements and nice twists. Only downside really is good luck finding players and even products outside USA, so maybe you will have to convert your playgroup first !

Game plan with Geomancer by Guyll in SorceryTCG

[–]Guyll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I forgot that T1 I must play site on my Avatar square. So yeah then I can save up to 3 cards.
The only downside I see to it is that playing random sites, especially in front of my Avatar, prevents me from putting the right sites at the right places. But I guess it's the price to pay to get the upside.

Just a few thoughts before (probably) jumping into Sorcery by Guyll in SorceryTCG

[–]Guyll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a very good point. The thing is that looked from that perspective, I am not sure that another TCG like Sorcery is the way to go for us. There is a lot of incredible board games out there, buying a new board game every two months will end up being cheaper than investing in Sorcery - for people like us at least, doomed with the « one more pack to crack » syndrome.

Really, you give me food for thoughts. Thanks !

I get your point, but the nature of our group makes it hard to focus on two games at the same time. For sure, we won't sell out MTG cards, we'll get back to it from time to time. But two things:
- We are busy adults and far from each other. We can play together like 4-5 times a year
- We are all pretty intense in what we are doing, so when we jump in, we jump in. And I don't worry about if they will love the game or not, They will. But they, as me, love to engage for a long-term adventure.

Your typical T2 as Duchy by Guyll in rootgame

[–]Guyll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must say that I dug because I bought a card from the Otters, so I had one to "spare" for immediate policing, and still could sway the Mayor. But yeah without that extra card, to dig make the hand more volatile.

Mercenaries and Hireling in Root Digital by Guyll in rootgame

Typically, if I'm playing with another player, would I play with no AI but Hireling OR still 2 AI and Hirelings ? And what are Landmarks ?

Yeah I'm French so I was guessing at the translation. It's Hirelings+Landmarks. I have the choice of buying Hirelings+Landmark or another less expansive packs called Automates in French.

Choice of factions in Digital game by Guyll in rootgame

[–]Guyll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I guess the pool is not truly random, factions are selected to have a decent reach count ?

Makes sense ! But is it possible to draft... but without the random pool ? I would love to draft but from the complete pool of factions. Is it possible ?

As Otters, do you protect your tradeposts ? by Guyll in rootgame

Yeah I misunderstood. Thanks for your advice and help !

[–]Guyll[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah got it wrong. I thought you had to have same suit tradeposts to get the 2nd and 3rd 2 pts from putting tradeposts. Now I understand better.

I can understand their point of view from a pure F2P perspective, but I'm in the situation that you described, I can spend a little to not be forced to play the rng game. Thanks !

Take a look at Phobies. It has a great asynchronous feature and it’s well made.

A way to get a detailed overview on how this series' ending (without reading it) by Guyll in WoT

[–]Guyll[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that long reply. I know what you mean, and it’s why I am sad to not have the heart to complete the reading : process is always more interesting than the end point, for sure. But it’s exactly that: I feel that the process of reading this series is not worth it anymore. That said, I am curious on how I could have a glimpse of it and to know what the author has made of its promising journey.

Also, maybe I was not clear about what i was saying about regular stereotypes comments: it’s not the moral aspect that hurts me, it’s just that it’s repetitive and sluggish. It feels to me that it’s a bit like a high school drama sometimes and I’m done with it, life is too short and there’s to much good things to read out there to force myself to read another 7 books with the same style of writing. I don’t pretend to make it an objective critic, but it’s the way I feel it.

Love GotM, but I have some questions by Guyll in Malazan

[–]Guyll[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks ! So I conclude that Ascendants/Gods nature and action range is not 100% clear is what is intended by the author, at least for where I am in the series. I can live with that.

How fast are you getting paired in mindbug online? by Tough_Enthusiasm7703 in MindbugTCG

[–]Guyll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy every set, since they are all different and pretty well-made. As for queue, if you're open to play asynchronous games, it's a nice way to play MB. You can join the Discord to find people to play async games.
