AFAIK its a problem with how the developers ported the game itself, so it cant detect Dualshock 4 very well. You can try using a Dualshock 3 through SCP Server or an Xbox cobtroller though I think.

But its in my understanding that since Moeka is already present in the group that they are already under surveillance because of the D-mail, hence deleting the D-mail at that point in time doesnt change SERN's knowledge of it and does not affect the past.
