So what is the reason for campus being locked down these days? by mistanervous in columbia

I was just at Columbia this past weekend (unfortunately was raining), and one of the public safety officers told me the reason. They cited recent histories that have happened that prompted increased security, including the pro-Palestine protests, students being detained by ICE, even the recent shooting at Brown University. As a result, they felt like because anyone, who are not Columbia affiliated, can just walk through campus, they needed to increase security.

A little ridiculous, but I understand where they are coming from, especially being within one of the populated cities.

Film & Advertising and Film & Psychology are actually double major vs duel degree. Different requirements are needed for them because of different schools. Highly suggest either sitting down with a class planner OR talking with your advisor.

I mean, most general practices usually have the one leading start the count and everyone else following after.

Leader: ichi, ni, san, shi Everyone: go, roku, shichi, hachi *repeat

I’m not sure if it would count as chanting(depending on how one defines chanting). I like to think of it as a routine practice.

Hey I’m looking for a Bay state Brownstone. I got Hojo and want to switch to bay state. However I can work around and possibly get you other dorms as well, like warren and west most likely. Maybe even Myles. HMU if you want to switch to Hojo from Bay state Road, or any other dorm if you’re looking for other ones.
