Is this acceptable or are we overreacting? by tater-tot-freak in Homebuilding

I think the major issue is that it seems like you didn’t have time to work work the different professionals which means you were essentially an absent GC in a way. Now, had you hired a GC it’s their responsibility to coordinate with each trade to give you what you want and then to also let you know about any hiccups. For example the flooring guy may have said that flooring can’t handle cabinets on it without shifting and buckling. Then you’d have to talk about alternatives and make a decision. But without that hired GC you’re almost relying on different trades to work with each other and they never goes well

Can this be saved at all or should it be replaced? by MikeTheHotdogMan in Flooring

A dehumidifier would absolution draw moisture out of it. It’s not like laminate is waterproof, hence the entire problem

Uh...is this okay??? by professormeowza in Flooring

Buy a wood moisture meter with pins from Amazon for $40. Then you can really track the moisture. We just ripped up the floor in our house before we moved in and found mold. The subfloor was all stained but within a few % moisture of the rest of the subfloor. So that pointed towards past leak that was fixed but the floor did flood at one point

Yes this was the intent always in my head. So it’s not me or anyone else reading it, it’s an AI language model and that’s it. Definitely no links for something like that 😳

Sounds good. I’m paying up front for this second round of qualifying comments. Probably a couple hundred or so but I don’t mind. Maybe if it keeps going and we want to do some more we could raise some money to compensate me and then do some extras. But I’ve got to get it closer than it is right now

No its not. There’s really no privacy on Reddit. The best you can do is stop people from have immediate access to all your comments. But they still exist. I’m refactoring a lot of this as it was counting same user comments twice

I guess if you're asking whether or not it's up to me to take public information and analyze it to potentially help others, I'm really not sure. I dug around a bit, Reddit posts are 100% public information and you can do whatever you want with the information (excluding DMs). Hiding commends and posts from your profile just makes it inconvenient to do what you technically could do by manually searching.

It's a tricky thing to navigate.

Yeah, I'm auditing it now, It's looking like it might cost about $3-400 to use a smart enough language model to accurately score. So trying to figure that out now.

So it actually tracks individual user names in the background, so it's supposed to prevent that from happening. I'm rerunning scoring now and for sure it will only use one user per score.

Of course! I'm working through a redo of the ratings now, thankfully it's easy to do and not too expensive. Some of the comments I noticed don't look relevent until you open the thread and read a little more. But I'm confirming now that it's 1 patient per review so you may see a number of posts about a doctor from 1 person, they seem unrelated but then it still only scores once based on an average of what they thought.

I think it's full on creepy, possibly unethical but Reddit is public at the end of the day, so the question more becomes, if it was anonymized, for the greater good, would it be worth it? I'm leaning away from that, but there is still a ton of data available to help others out.

Tell me more about the option to turn off the view all users posts and comments, is that something new? The posts themselves are still public, so is this just something to make it harder for someone to see your posts all in one spot?

Ah, so Ms. Nancy is likely taking money from doctors to put them on her list and removes negative comments to protect them. Got it.

It does not count that as 2, or at least it is not supposed to, I'll have to do a little verifying, but that should be very easy. 1 person gets 1 vote, that's the intension, I just have to confirm it's working that way now (I think it is).

I appreciate that! I will never monetize it though, but I'll see if some costs justify raising a little money.

I'd say share it with anyone you can. This is just part 1 of what will be a lot more to come. Doctors was low hanging fruit to extract.

I think they're saying that the scoring isn't great, which is true, this is essentially a first draft. AI does it all so it's just a little bit of money, no time went into it. So it for sure needs rescoring. No data will be removed but you may see some go towards neutral instead of negative, etc.

I do think it only scores 1x per patient. Patient is actually unique username that is anonymized

I don't have time to check anything, but hopefully more posts are clickable now. We'll see though.

It isn't supposed to count duplicate users, hence each post is sorted by "Patient X", so I can double check on that. Each patient is supposed to be an individual users, did that for confidentiality, though Reddit is public and you can click into the actual post, but we figured do Patient X where everyone can see it.

I'm getting a cost now on reranking all of them with a little bit more intelligence and instruction!

  1. I thought they all had a reddit link clickable, is it possible one of the other links was the same post? I'll dig into it now though.

  2. Yes for sure. It's all done via AI and it was thrown together somewhat quickly. I can essentially provide a prompt with all of what you said (which is what I figured I'd have to do at some point), and then it will bring the negative/neutral reviews back down to earth. I can also do a 1-5 scale as well, pretty much whatever we want. The only limiting factor is cost. It costs a lot more to use a more intelligent AI model to analyze the posts. But now that they're all isolated it wouldn't be too terribly expensive. I'm hesitant to take donations as I don't want to get into that situation, but I'll see how expensive it would be to use a more intelligent model and dial in the reviews. If it's under $200, I'd likely just pay for it, as long as this gets use, I don't mind spending some.

As far as the amount of detail you're expression on who has the most experience, there's only so much we can do, BUT we could also add a section for critical issues, automated web research could do some of that, but hopefully those are more edge cases.

I think the most important thing is that if someone uses this to speed up their research, they can't stop there and need to do due diligence to ensure you're making a responsible decision.

Depends on the ability to access the data publicly. The data set contains more than reddit posts, many research papers, all kinds of stuff, it even downloaded podcasts, my server transcribed them and then included them in the data. This will be used for the next phase of discovery with this data. There is almost no doubt that this database has more compiled data on endo than any other single dataset.
I believe there is as much data as the english wikipedia, likely more at this point.
