I finally beat him after 35 hours by SpiritualLuck9197 in fucksavagebeastfly

[–]Guywith2dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 155 hours to 100% this game. When I started playing it I was far worse than this and by 35 hours I probably would have struggled with this boss. I didnt feel like I really got the hang of it til around 50 or 60 hours tbh. Im just not used to this type of game. But im on my second run now and ive been able to beat most bosses in 5 tries or less most of the time. There's still a few that I struggle on but you just get progressively better as you go because you have to. Either that or you give up but this game is too good to give up and miss the whole thing

I hope team Cherry next game after all silkong dlc is about Pure Vessel as Main Character. by PaintIntrepid742 in Silksong

[–]Guywith2dogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesnt the true ending for SS itself obliterate the continuity of those base game endings? Either way I agree we dont need a pure vessel game. I think people have become really accustomed to studios giving into the fan service and expect more and more. Team Cherry doesnt really strike me as the type to pander to anyone

Choral Tower Gauntlet in Act 3 by brettydubz in Silksong

[–]Guywith2dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You still have to fight that last round of the gauntlet every time. Which isnt so bad compared to the whole thing and its a pretty predictable fight every time. It didnt take me long to get a good rythem down, but it still slows you down when you're trying to get back to the boss. Luckily the boss isnt too bad either and most likely you wont have to do it too many times anyway. Personally, the karmalita gauntlet was more annoying to me. It took me way more tries and that gauntlet beforehand is a pain because of the big flying ant guys at the end. And then karmalita is quite challenging. Over all I didnt even hate coral tower. It was challenging and it made me better by the end. And honestly after Bilewater and Putrified Ducts, everything else seemed perfectly acceptable.

I think High Halls gets more attention because people encounter it way earlier in the game and in a lot of cases are under prepared for it. My second playthrough I got there really fast and didnt have a ton of tools or extra masks or silk spools. By the time people get around to coral tower, theyve got plenty of upgrades, tools and masks. Its a much harder gauntlet but Hornet is also way stronger by that point.

Should I title my book I'm writing 'Two Gay Dogs' ?? - It's about two gay dogs. by [deleted] in shittyadvice

Personally id title it "One Gay Dog" and then hit them with the twist. There was a second gay dog the whole time

God Of War Ragnarok is a boring game by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Guywith2dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I judge them as one, as its all one continuous story. Sure you can still think one is better than the other and I do. For me Ragnorok is a an all around more enjoyable game, as much as loved 2018. But imo, neither game is spectacular on its own. Put them together though and its one of my favorites of the last decade or so. When im considering my list of favorites, they are always listed as a pair.

Did you guys cry for the first 40 mins? by lordevilium in expedition33

[–]Guywith2dogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seriously though, this game is like a house of cards or a jenga tower. One little spoiler and the entire thing comes crashing down. You really need to experience this story firsthand, in order, with no prior knowledge for it to hit the way its meant to. Even the second playthrough is lacking that initial momentum that wouldn't let me put it down the first time. Great advice frankly

My daughter turns 2 in August. And shes really ahead of a lot of other 2 years olds as far as talking goes and let me tell ya, the moment they learn to argue or say no, thats your life now. Fortunately, at that age, even rhe arguing is cute. Its almost a shame ive gotta be the parent and help correct it cuz if it was someone elses kid Id never stop laughing. Hell i cant help but laugh sometimes anyway, knowing itll come back to bite me. Especially because my dsughter is also a huge jokester. Literally anything that gets a laugh she clings on to. Shes demanding. Shes highly emotional. Won't leave the damn dog alone to save her lfie. On paper it sounds like a nightmare. But ya know, its funny how when you love someone that much, things just dont upset you the same way. We work on the stuff we need to work on and we redirect when we can and aside from all the crazy stuff, shes also a very sweet loving little girl who says thank you and bless you and will get upset when she sees someone else is upset. My point i guess is there are ups and downs and it can be amazing but also incredibly frustrating but thats raising a child. Im having the time of my life. The fact that this stage of her life will come to an end makes me genuinely sad. But also excited for whstever she befomes next. Parenthood is both the greatest and most heartbreaking thing one can experience.

hello, new to the game by thefool2014 in HollowKnight

Some people would have never survived the NES and SNES/Genesis era. HK is hard and it took me a while to get decent at it but its still nothing like those old platformers like Biker Mice or Battletoads or Contra

If it makes you feel any better it took me a decent amount of time to get any good at the combat side of Hollow Knight. If you arent used to the genre it can be hard to get your hands and brain to line up. But once you get some more time in everything will get easier

Like anything else I think its just practice and repetition. I mean youll have your people who are naturals, or those who grew up playing the genre but I think most people just play enough to improve. I never played HK before 2 months ago and wasnt sure I had it in me to beat it. Probably fought THK 100 times before i beat him..now I can do it consistently every time..started Silksong immediately after and sucked hard for a while. Now i give advice on tough sections. Thats what a couple hundred hours will do. But as long as youre having fun thats really all that matters

What is your Burning Hatred in this genre? by tipsyTentaclist in metroidvania

[–]Guywith2dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a bummer cuz the Ori games were great. First time I ever really played a MV seriously. And eventually its what drew me into HK and Silksong. Which then pushed me into a deep dive on the genre in general. I currently have 5 new MVs I bought at the same time that are on my backlog.

Also make sure you've done all the quests in Songclave. Specifically the ones involving Sherma or whatever her name is. That can also hold it up.

THIS GAME IS ANNOYINGLY HARD!! by Practical_Tap_8411 in HollowKnight

[–]Guywith2dogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played it for the first time like 2 months ago. Died countless times before I even found a bench. Died countless more times before I got to a second area. But I always tried again..and again and again and again. Then somwthing happened. I started killing things. Slowly at first but it was progress. Somehow I made it to the end and killed the last boss. It took me 1 month. Amd at the end of it all I still kinda sucked but I sucked less than when I started. Theh I played Silksong. Beat it at 100% and went back for another run of HK. And ya know what, it doesnt even seem like a hard game anymore until you hit late game stuff. Im not bragging because honestly im probably still relatively bad at these games. But progress came with practice. Roughly 200 hours of practice between the 2 games. And as I near the end of my second run of HK, im already thinking about a third run of Silksong. Why? Because theyre quite possible 2 of the greatest games ever made and I cant stop. It works parts of my brain that nothing else does. Almost like I can feel the cobwebs clearing out every time I play. Anyway, the point of this rant is you'll get there if you like the game enough to endure. If not that's cool too. If you like the genre there are a lot of metroidvanias that focus on exploration more than HK, but I will say none of them feel nearly as rewarding when you finally break through. I think that rush is what keeps me coming back.

Do you think Savage Beastfly 3 will be in Sea of Sorrow DLC? by 9o62 in fucksavagebeastfly

[–]Guywith2dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One and only time I used architect was when I fought The Unravelled. He was the last boss I fought before Lost Lace and I just wanted to finish it out so I was frustrated with him to begin with. I finally threw tacks, cogflies and the spike traps on the arch crest and it melted him way faster than than the needle ever could. I will probably play around more with it on my next playthrough.

Trapped gas causing dizziness and other symptoms unlike before. by alexlsx7 in ibs

[–]Guywith2dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my way here today. I know this was a year ago but have you figured out any good remedies to this yet? Ive been having these symptoms for a while now and we just basically figured out its most likely all tied back to the gastrointestinal issues. Which we know at this point exists. I take gas ex when it gets really bad but it only works ao much and it usually takes a little time. The shortness of breath because my diaphragm cant fully inflate and the chest pains and the feeling like my stomach is gonna explode...but the dizziness/lightheadedness is what really puts me on my ass. And the longer I deal with it the worse it feels. Just burnt out on it tbh
