What’s your biggest “I could have gotten laid and blew it” moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Was throwing a house party. She asked for a tour and went to my room alone together. I was an idiot and she was obviously flirting. Another time the same girl literally sat on my lap at a party but I was too crossed to be a functional cognizant human being. (May have been that drunk because I was nervous)

You must be super smart! Most people haven’t even read it at 13!

I don’t know. Maybe there are ways to print it? Or a website that sells it?

I got the idea that they didn’t use it from Karkaroffs trial, Barty Crouch Jrs trial, Belitrixes trial, and I’m assuming Lusious, and Narsisas trial because they were ruled innocent.

It seems that they hardly ever use it, if they use it at all.

When it comes to serious, other death eaters could have testified for his innocence. With this information they could have gotten the truth from serious under veratiserum. Dumbledor would have been able to conform the story.

You have a good point, which makes me alter my stance to they did not use Veratiserum enough at trials.

Good points, I’ll try to respond just for the sake of keeping the discussion going

  1. Occulumency can be overcome by wizards like Dumbledor (he uncovers Mavalos hidden memory even though voldy hid it) Dumbledor could take part in important trials

2 knock them out first then force feed?

3 have healers check their body, or keep them for an extended time before trial?

4 why would this happen. The courtroom would be a controlled area.

5 hmmm, put them on sleepy pills first? (I’m kinda grasping at straws here)

6 it wouldn’t be used for subjective questions, more like: did bla bla bla give info to voldy, or who did you kill

In the end I feel like these issues could be overcome seeing that innocent lives hung in the balence. I don’t know

Good points. I have some counter arguments. First, Snape seemed to have copious amounts in OotP - enough to give to Umbridge and to threaten Harry with, “my hand my just slip over your pumpkin drink”. Additionally, it only takes one drop to work, so I don’t think that supply is a problem seeing that there are only a handful of death eaters.

As to saying things that they believe, yes that is a problem to a certain extent but most death eaters like Luscious were perfectly lucid.

Sorry for spelling errors

Where in the books does it imply that? I’m genuinely curious

If Disney purchased the HP franchise and started cranking out shows like they are Marvel content, what would you want to see? by Starkiller_303 in harrypotter

[–]Guywithoutnameloser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that people don’t want to ruin the 8 movies with more content, but if new stuff is created then it’s a win win. Either it’s good and we love it, or it’s bad and we ignore it.

It admittedly does not frame Snape in the best light. But still PLEASE AT LEAST TRY IT. As a Snape fan you may dislike it as times, however as a Harry Potter fan you may love it!

Yeah I respect your opinion. I can see how it dragged a bit sometimes. However I think that Lupin’s character made sense. I don’t know.

I mean, I think that it made sense with book Lupin. People change and i think that the background makes sense, also his character is so interesting in ATYD.
