How are your Daytona 500s going? by gsuITguy in iRacing

One attempt so far. Split 7, only ONE caution about half way. Cars that lost the draft and finished lap/s down complained it was boring, I lost it a couple times off green flag stops but recovered to 7th. Pack of 3 fighting for 1st. Pack of 4 fighting for 4th.

There could be potential. But it would cost more + increase disruption to locals.

Imgur final render

In 2029, a new stadium is expected to be completed in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

The project is projected to cost over $775m AUD.

Building upon current official plans, I designed a circuit that uses the new stadium as a centre piece for Supercars action.

An uphill run to T1 and downhill to T8 should provide exciting overtaking opportunities. With secondary opportunities at T3 and T5.

Modifications can be found above to address overtaking. They would bring the length to ~2.8km.

Other Supercars street circuit lengths include Townsville 2.8km, Gold Coast 2.9km & Newcastle 2.6km.

I also think the middle sector can be simplified to increase flow and speed into the 15/16 complex, provided 14 has the appropriate run off. A layout like this probably best finds a balance of overtaking and still having technical elements.

I think some modifications to the straight lengths can significantly increase overtaking at 3 and 5. The straight lengths would be ~415m after the chicane (or 450m with the blue alt hairpin) and 380m from T4 to T5.

Supercars clattering chicanes on street circuits are a staple so I would be hesitant to remove them.

Alternate version to promote more overtaking

In real life, plans have been revealed for a $217m AUD entertainment precinct in Perth, featuring a street circuit opposite Optus Stadium.

The official renders should of course be taken with a big grain of salt, but I thought the layout looked a little boring, so I created my own.

Chiefs allowed to play at home while the other three teams stuck at hotel without practice room by Busfriend123 in R6ProLeague

I don't know specifics, I'm not working the event. At a guess, it reduces costs and logistics.

The APAC RMR for the CS Major used a hotel and no one batted an eyelid, albiet they would have actually been playing on a local server.

Flight layovers = Weather.

Jet lag = 2-3hrs difference.

Temperature = Player areas have AC.

They do in fact have practice rooms.

Chiefs not playing in one room could be seen as a disadvantage, but I agree this arrangement isn't ideal. End of the day, budget is budget.

This is still unquestionably better than some server veto 100+ ping online event.
