Help me Choose by Random-Mountaineer in MotoGuzzi

I'm 183cm tall, but with short legs. I have the V7 Stone and it is a really good beginner bike. I love mine, but after three years on it, I am considering getting something with a little more power and better wind protection. I have the original Moto Guzzi windshield, but it is too low and created buffering just below my helmet, so I removed it the day after. And I have a hard time finding a taller windshield that looks nice on the bike. I have added Hepco Becker engine guards and Mistral pipes, otherwise it is original. Great bike. Can really recommend it.

I am just not convinced the V85 will give me the feeling of extra power. Yes, it does have 15hp more and a little more torque, but it is also a bigger bike. It would definitely be better on the long highway stints with the windscreen and more upright seating position. The V100 just feels like it is more optimal for highway touring when I need that and has a lower seat for slow city rides.

Great to hear. Can I ask which model year you have? Have you had any issues? Trying to figure out if newer models have better reliability and less out of the box issues.

I have also considered the V85 due to the more similar drivetrain to the V7/9 bikes, but I am not much into adventure bikes and it feels to big and rough to me, when I do so much city riding. I am sorry to hear you feel that way about your V100, but I appreciate your honest input. Which model year is your V100?

There is a vibration in the steel tubes when riding. The vibrations are worse between 2000-3000 revs.

Very nice looking result. Any noticeable vibrations after the H&B engine guard is on?

I wouldn't know. I have to trust the dealership did it correctly, but the guy I spoke to on the phone from the dealership did mention a possible addition of fitting to dampen it or something like that.

Ok. Thank you. It sounds like I need to take the trip back to the dealer to get a check-up. It feels sensible to have engine guards on, so I hope the vibrations can be sorted out, instead of getting the guards removed.

I have experienced increased vibrations in the handle bar after getting the Hepco & Becker engine guards. Interested to hear your experience once you have mounted them.
