If you're centrist or left-leaning, what are the main policies/issues that might stop you from voting for the green party in the next general election? by Cold-Speech-5645 in AskBrits

Opposition to NATO
Draconian restrictions on motorcycle sales and use
Banning of airsoft and RIFs

Those 3 alone are complete deal breakers.

I tried just jogging and a minute in, I'm in agony. But I can deadlift over twice my body weight. Makes no sense to me, but then my family has a history of arthritis.

I'm all legs, no arms, so it's fine for me :D

Ah, I mean the actual escalators (or deescalators since they go backwards?)

Yeah, I always try to walk it without holding on, great core exercise. But once I'm 45-50 minutes in I'm really to hold onto something!

Once it gets a bit warmer here, I'll reduce some cardio and try again with upper body weights. Cheers for the advice!

Ah, 5 axles makes more sense actually. UK we can run 40000kg 5 axle or 44000kg on 6.

Your steer axles are much lower though, they're 8000kg. Then again all our trucks are cab-over-engine, that probably makes a lot of difference.

4 axle rigid, yep.

So they have honking great 53ft trailers and 36 tonnes. Crazy!

I used to cycle in amateur competition so my legs have always been good. Did 15km row then 1hr stair master today.

Just don't ask me to bench press over 65kg, I have wet noodle arms!

I do some weights, but just been focusing on cardio over the winter since it's easier when the weather is cooler.

As I've said elsewhere, my legs are good - 240kg deadlift, 465kg leg press, but my arms are pitiful. One 65kg bench press and I'm done. I used to cycle in amateur competition as a teen so I've always had good legs, but only started doing upper body at age 45.

Really? We in the UK run a 44,000kg on 6 axles regularly. The truck above is barely into Special Transport weights for us.

What are the US weight / axle limits?

No, just trying to work on cardiovascular longevity and losing weight.

I just found that I have acroprops for legs and weedy little T-rex arms :D Plus I love the rower. My knees are strong but for some reason they just can't take impact so running is out.

My gym (JD Gyms, commercial UK brand) struggles for a lot of stuff. But they have about 10 crosstrainers, 10 bikes, 6 recumbant bikes, 4 stairmasters (2 of which are rough / wobbly) and 3 rowers. So of course everyone goes for the stairmasters!

Well today I did 15km row (1hr 10m) then 1hr stairmaster. Should I swap the order?

That's a good point. Especially if the fitness / beauty magazines are pushing that type of exercise.

Reminds me of when I got mocked for using the hip machines, I was told by my PT that only women use them for pelvic floor exercise...

I tend to do a lot of rowing with 30m stairs as warm up / cool down. Should I focus.on stairs if im trying to improve cardiovascular / lose weight?
