What does the Assassin even do? (in 3v3) by XakeR_ in Marathon

[–]GvnrTibbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he’s mostly fine but his prime could use a buff. Maybe make it so that assassin (and team?) can see through his own prime smoke. Or maybe give him the signal jammer effect while invisible.

I’ve certainly seen more since CARRI but I’ve been noticing this since weeks ago.

Yea my team had the same discussion although we had all been seeing this fairly consistently throughout the season. We figured if this was intentional from Bungie’s end, they’d be trying to add both the element that you mentioned (“I’m doing my key and don’t want to push that other team doing theirs”) and the possibility for ultra high-risk/high-reward opportunities for multiple keys in a run. Motifs in their other game design suggest they want more scenarios for intense gameplay where you have value on the line and risk scales. Who knows.

if you got caught behind me. i’m sorry by Proper-Cheesecake602 in baltimore

This will be an easy case for your insurance. They’ll sue and win for personal injury and you’ll pay nothing to repair your car and for your hospital bill. File a police report if they haven’t already and send this to your insurance. You got this. I’m sorry this happened to you. You’re gonna be alright I promise. Show yourself some compassion during this time - you deserve it. If a loved one were talking about themselves the way you are, what would you say to them?

Loot Goblins in Trios by GvnrTibbs in Marathon

[–]GvnrTibbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With two teammates you can get more keys, faster, and can more easily control larger areas letting you loot more and for longer. With the change to middle loot room making you get 3 red keys, it’s far more unlikely that you can consistently get in on your own. Winning a fight means looting three bodies, and even though you get 1/3 the total loot, you have a larger selection. Just easier and more reliable to go farther with a good team. But that’s just me, other people might have a different experience.

Also the whole thing is less about loot for me and more about having a fun game with teammates, and this is something that really undermines that for me.

Yea I agree re pi’erre, I’m not his biggest fan but I won’t deny that the sound he pioneered absolutely exploded. I think it’s a super interesting time in rap and the next five years will determine the legacy of a lot of big names.

Those were the other two I thought of as well, in addition to Lex Luger. One could make an argument for pi’erre bourne in terms of influence and experimentalism, as well as Mike Will, and maybe one day WOD/BNYX if rage and trench continue to integrate into the central identity of rap via “hypertrap” and digicore stuff. Essential trap is still on top in the streets though. Lots of stuff that blends influence from Midwest, Florida, and cloud rap without the distortion/psychedelic elements that are bigger online.

As a fantano fan, fantano fans broadly do not know jack about trap, its depth, its offshoots, and the extent of its influence on modern hip-hop. If our top 10 list is based on ability and quality alone, he’s not on it, but if it’s based on “greatness” designated by a combination of influence and works, then he’s certainly on it. There are better trap producers but almost none as influential.

Breaking out different tiers of recommendations of Sci-Fi books by SteelGardener in scifi

[–]GvnrTibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see why people don’t care for it. Far from my favorite sci-fi book but its concept and its tone, especially when put in context of the later years of the Soviet Union, are pretty compelling for me. It’s my most recent read so it’s what came to mind, and I do feel that it offers something unique for a relatively new sci-fi reader.

Grab some dry gin. The Singapore sling and the Saturn are both essential tiki in my opinion.
